Hi All,

I have been watching the posts about service dogs. I just thought I'd share

my story about mine with you!

I have a beautiful Service Dog who isn't a dog at all. She is a wolf. Her

name is Ebony. She is a grey and black long haired timber wolf. She is my world.

She is well trained for a number of things. Places I have lived that doesn't

allow pets have to accept her because she is a registered service dog. I rarely

take her into stores with me and have never taken her in a resturant. I could

but I don't because it isn't really neccesary.

Ebony is trained to press my life alert button if for any reason I need help

and can not. I also have severe sleep apnea. I can not wear a C-Pap machine. So

Ebony's main job is to wake me when I stop breathing at night. She earns her

keep every single night. There is no way I would be alive without her. She works

all night and some nights she only has to wake me 1 or 2 times a night, others

she is waking me every few minutes. It just depends on the night. She is

awesome. She is the second wolf I have had as a service dog.

I honestly don't know what I'd do without Ebony. I dread the day that I will

loose her. She is about 8 now so she is getting up there. I lost my last one at

12 which is old for a wolf. Princess my first wolf was from the wild. This one

has been born & raised in captivity so she is much more even tempered, she

doesn't have the wild instincs to den up and such as Princess did. I have never

let her have pups so don't know what type Mother she'd be. Princess was not a

good Mother at all. I think out of 2 litters we let her have we only managed to

save and raise 1 male pup. She would let them nurse a couple weeks then she'd

try to run them out to fend for themselves. Of course they were to young to eat

on their own. We tried to bottle fed them and save them but as I said we only

managed to save one. That was many years ago and they didn't have Mothers milk

and such like they do now. Formula & Cows Milk always gave them diarehha and

we'd end up loosing them. I figure Ebony would be a good Mother but time was

never right and didn't have another wolf to breed her with when she'd be in so I

just never let her have any. She is old enough now that she rarely even comes in

anyore.

I will try later on to post some photo's of Ebony. She is a beauty. And she

is my life. I guess I should say I owe my life to her! This is getting long so I

will close for now. Just thought since I do have a service dog that I would post

my story in short version.

God Bless!
