Guest guest
& , Here's what I tried to send. One thing I forgot is that Lamictal can cause decrease in appetite. With every increase would reject food though as he got used to the dosage his appetite would return. ---------- To: " & Savage " Subject: Re: Lamicatal reaction Date: Thu, Aug 29, 2002, 10:01 AM No, I definitely don't mind you contacting me directly. Unfortunately I wasn't able to open your attachment. (MacIntonish user!) The bad reaction had was myoclonic seizures. If your son has any myoclonic seizures at all, this is not the drug for him. went from having a few myoclonic drops per week to 75+ sets of myoclonic jerks per day (lasting 30-45 sec each). Now that we're off Lamictal, we don't see them much any more. Others on the list have had behavior problems as well (aggressiveness, agitation). We never saw any of that. As a matter of fact, seemed pretty happy on Lamictal and we didn't see any cognitive impairment like we have with other AEDs. I think in general it can be a good, safe---- drug. Though you have to increase the dosage VERY slowly or there is a risk of a life-threatening allergic reaction. Aren't the drugs fun? It takes a while to get to a theraputic level, so I wouldn't wait until it hits a crisis point. How has a raw vegan diet helped ? Doesn't sound like you could do the keto diet, but I guess anything is possible. The fat could come from heavy cream and oil. Feel free to e-mail me with any other questions. ashley ---------- > >To: >Subject: Lamicatal reaction >Date: Tue, Aug 27, 2002, 4:18 PM > > , > > Hope you don't mind me contacting you direct. > > You mentioned on ketogenic newsgroup some days ago that your > son had a bad reaction to Lamictal.
