Guest guest
Hi . My name is Diane and I got pregnant 6 months after surgery and miscarried. I got pregnant 3 months later and only gained a net of five pounds during the whole pregnancy. My son Alec is the most precious thing. I've wanted a child ever since I could remember and was told I could not have children because of my weight. Losing weight allowed me this wonderful opportunity. My son is four months old and very healthy. I am now wanting to start losing weight again and it has been so difficult. My doctor says it's because I got pregnant too soon. He wanted me to wait the 18 months because he says that is the fastest weight loss period after wls. I couldn't wait though. Having a baby was more important than dropping more weight. I will never regret my decision. Diane
Guest guest
I waited twelve months -- which is the minimum a lot of surgeons require -- and got pregnant the first time I tried. FERTILITY skyrockets after you have this surgery! This was after several years of infertility. I have since gained five pounds and I am in my 25th week. Rasley mailto:drasley@... Guest guest
Before getting pregnant on Christmas morning of 1999, I was 13 months post-op, weighed 145, had a tummy tuck done (YAY!) and was a size 8. I eat plenty, believe you me! Now I'm 17 1/2 weeks along and weigh 147. My belly is getting a little big and I can feel the baby move all the time! He's going to be a field goal kicker! LOL! Actually, I'm hoping it's a he. I'll find out for sure April 19th. I can't wait! Yipee! Jenna Question The newbie has some questions....<g> for those of you who are pregnant or have had a child since WLS: How far post op were you before you got pregnant? How much did you gain with your pregnancy? Guest guest
I agree. I got off the pill in October and got pregnant in December. Guest guest
I was exactly a year because that was when I stopped using birth control, even though I was previously infrtile, I got pregnant the first time I had sex with out protection. I am 33 weeks and I have gained 19 pounds. donna > The newbie has some questions....<g> for those of you who are pregnant or have had a child since WLS: > How far post op were you before you got pregnant? > How much did you gain with your pregnancy? > Thanks in advance, > ~
Guest guest
hello all- Bh contrax are contractions that warm up the uterus for the real thing, your body produces prostagladins also semen has it in there too ...prostagladins make the cervix ripen for a softer cervix in which in turn when you have bh contrax or a real contrax it is viable to dilate you....evening primrose oil injested has prostogladins in it so the theroy can help the cervix more pliable ...but bh contrax can dilate you but cannot put you into labor .... a drop in protosterone in your blood levels puts you into labor..... hope this helps BTW for all of you that are going to be going into labor and for those that have nothing else to do ... Guest guest
Hi Jenna- Its hard to say about 34 weeks , for me i tried it starting probably 36 weeks i wanna say and i think it helped alot.. maybe if she started taking it gradually and then by 36 weeks she can begin to take more.... if she has bh contrax or contrax with the EPO, it can dialate ,(cervix more pliable for dialation) you and being 34 weeks a little early for dialation but , saying that you can be dialated for weeks and not go into labor...anything after 37 weeks the baby lungs are fully developed so this is why i say start at or around 36 weeks.... she should talk to her dr about taking EPO ( hehe i should practice what i preach ) cuz i didnt talk to my dr either .... I hope this helps, Shonda RE: question > > > > > > > > Thanks i am a little worried > > > > how far along r u? > > > > > > > > Suzanne > > > > " Suplicki, Jenna " wrote: > > Yes. You have two things going here: first you started to starve the bacteria, so they were beginning to die, then she ate some illegals which fed the bad bacteria, and they re-surged. Both epsom salt baths, and activated charcoal have been recommended for die-off. There's also the possibility that she's caught some kind of stomach-bug. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
