Guest guest
Yes, and some changes in the brain can cover up MS lesions rendering the MRI useless in diagnosing it. One neurologist suspected MS several years ago. However, declined ordering the MRI after hearing about my history of severe migraine headaches since 16 saying the white matter changes in the brain from the migraines would make it impossible to see early lesions. Thank God, found one with sense enough to know when not to do an expensive useless test. Turns out no MS and a chiropractor found a kyphotic neck, bends back on itself, from degeneration from neck injury. Recent advances in that field delivered a re-shaped and properly curved neck. No more headaches or all the other neurologic deficits, which truly did mimic MS, balance difficulties, etc. (the list is long and you are all familiar with it). Anyway, my correct diagnosis turned out to be " nerve impingment syndrome " treated successfully by chiropractic biophysics - have a new neck now, sparing me expensive neurosurgery. We need to trust our instincts more sometimes!!! and know when to change doctors or decline tests. in Fayetteville
Guest guest
When it comes to neurology, it never hurts to have a reputable chiropractor shoot a few lateral films to check the spine curve. Abnormalities there can make our other neurologic difficulties worse. Chiropractors who practice biophysics can sometimes correct abnormalities and give us pain relief and relief from other troubling neurologic symptoms. In my case and my son's, it was complete relief of pain and restoration of function. Google for chiropractors who use the new " Proadjuster " or the term " chiropractic biophysics " . in Fayetteville
Guest guest
I didn't know that lesions could be things other than MS. I got lots of 'em and definitely have MS. I saw a new neuro today and she would not prescribe LDN ::::sniff, sob::::: stating that she has seen heart damage and sudden bone marrow problems that are non-fixable and deadly) caused by LDN. Blew my socks off. Has anybody heard of this??? Another problem is my dh got a brain and spinal MRI showing no lesions. Can you have MS with no lesions? Boy does he have all the symptoms. Help appreciated, ~Amber [low dose naltrexone] MRI'S CAN BE WRONG!!!! Went to see a new Nuero since the last one had the "God" attitude (and his nurse was a b@#*ch)and I couldn't take it anymore. Turns out he is very very good. Not too long ago there was a discussion going within the group about Dr.'s using MRI's to diagnose MS . Well guess what? My new Dr. said.....(drum roll here) "Lesions in an MRI can be attributed to alot of diseases not only MS". I said "Well what about the spinal fluid?" He said "I'm going to check on the results of all your previous tests and MRI'ssx, because again, it could be alot of other things besides MS". He told me so many things that my last Nuero never told me (like I had a lesion go dark and the biggest lesion in my spine is shrinking, from the scan I had in 4/06) I felt mentally challenged for having stayed with the last Dr. for a year and a half! My appointment was 2 hours and 20 mins. long. I'm happy I switched and guess what? He had no problem writing my script for LDN. I'm in Austin TX so if your near and you need his name let me know. What a wonderful day! v/r Juice
Guest guest
Your neuro isnt listening to you very well. She obviously thought you were talking about novantrone. Guest guest
I would ask that any doctors or pharmacists that are here answer this question. but I have never heard of this. You might want to ask her to read the insert to the crab drugs and see the side effects that occur. cyndiOn Jun 16, 2006, at 7:12 AM, rtee54 wrote:>> I didn't know that lesions could be things other than MS. Guest guest
Thanks for your reply Dave - I'll try again when I see her next time and make sure she understands which drug I'm talking about. ~Amber Your neuro isnt listening to you very well. She obviously thought you were talking about novantrone. ..

Novantrone(chemo) and Naltrexone sound alot alike and one must make sure your doc knows the difference between the two.
