Got my surgery Date I got my surgery date this morning. Guest guest Posted June 8, 2006 Report Share Posted June 8, 2006 Hi Shauna, I haven't found out who my surgeon will be yet.Awaiting the pre-op papers in the mail telling me when I have to go for the testings they do before surgery at the hospital.It seem like all the things I did 6 months ago have to be redone,like the EKG,Bloodwork etc. Are you participating in the research study on GBS?I had a man call me from McGee today explaining what all they need me to do.Said I can do it before or after the anethesia consult. I am getting soo anxious!JUst want it to get here and be done with so I can start over again! I'll be sure to let you know if I need anthing or have any questions.I look forward to meeting you sometime in the future after I have started being a LOSER!!!YAHOO BTW You Look fabulous on all the weigh you have lost so far!!! Once you get the referal from your dr. to get all those tests done, get all you can out of the way asap. There are a couple you can't do until about 2 wks before the surgery. Make sure you don't miss anything... I did that and gave myself quiet a scare of holding up surgery and I got lucky and it worked out. So be careful. Ask a lot of questions about the tests to make sure you understand the time frame and the procedures. I am SOOOOOOO excited for you.. hahaha really excited. WOOHOO!!!! Go Kim!! Well I emailed you my information, just give me a call if you need and I am looking forward to meeting you too. I am excited for us hahaha. Thanks for the compliment. Guest guest Posted June 9, 2006 Report Share Posted June 9, 2006 Thanks Shauna, I got my info in the mail today.All the pre-op testing stuff ( my surgery is exactly 2 weeks away today) and research requirements.I need to get busy Monday & get these appts made.I just hate getting mail like this on a Friday and our mail isn't delivered until about 4pm so it's too late to call DRs. I'm afraid I won't pass a test or something & get postponed! Looks like there are many DRs that could be my suregon for that Friday.There was a whole list of them.The only one I recognized was DR Raft- I suppose they are all great or they wouldn't be there (I hope!) I think he is an awesome doctor. He is straight to the point and doesn't hold back. He took an additional 2 hours on my surgery just so he wouldn't have to open me up. I sooo love him for that alone. He called me for 2-3 days at home to check up on me. I find that personal care to say a lot of these doctors here in Pittsburgh. I never would have had that in California. They feel they have nurses for that. I am sure whoever you get will be great. I love the doctors here.
