Guest guest Posted August 14, 2006 Report Share Posted August 14, 2006 Hi , Yes I get shingles when I am in a bad flare. Yes it can go along with Fibro for many people. I have Valtrex that I take if I think I am going to break out and it seems to knock it. I was ashamed when I first had to get it filled because of what it is meant for. But shingles is just a different string of the herpies virus so it does help it. Same with a fever blister or cold sore. They are all in the herpies family. I have so much Valtrex stocked up because they give it to me in a monthly supply but I do fine just taking it if I feel like I am going to have an outbreak I ussually catch it early and it kills it so I don't take it everyday. I haven't had to take it in over 6 months and I had it bad, at the worst it hung on about 4 months straight. Hope this helps. God Bless!
