Guest guest
Happy Anniversary My Fibro-Group, I want you to all know if you have been here 1 day or the whole 4 years I am thrilled you found us. When I started this group 4 years ago yesterday I thought it would be a tiny little chit-chat group. HOW WRONG I WAS!!!!! LOL The group quickly out grew little old me. I guess the oldest member left and my 1st. Co-Owner would be our very own Vicki. Then as time would have it the group grew to large for both of us and we together decided to take Kristy on as a second Co-Owner. What an assett she has been to us all. HATS OFF TO KRISTY! Also many thanks to our dedicated Moderators! I have a little story to tell here. The day I started this group, the day after the 4th of July 2003 I was about to loose hope. I felt I was in this world alone with all this pain wracking my body. My husband was in jail, I was just getting over a brain tumor & I had given up hope, I had about given up on LIFE. But as luck would have it by that night I had 2 people join this group. One was my dear Vicki & another girl named Tami. We seemed to all be suffering from the same things. So this group started and every day a few more members came along. We grew larger by the day. Back then it was an open group. But sadly as the world is made up of all kinds of people disscusions started over religion, politics, and sexual prefferences and it almost killed this group. (Hence the NO RELIGION OR POLITICS RULE) There was much bickering and fighting going on with members. And as with any open group you get your share of the dreaded and hated SPAMMERS! Hence the NO ENDORSING any Dr. or Organazation in depth rule. We managed to keep our head above water and many true dedicated members hung in there. So the group thrived. Sadly the day came when we had to restrict membership though to keep it a good group. But all in all we made it and here we are in our 4th year. It's funny how this group started in Wisconsin and now today our newest member who I just now approved Teri is also from Wisconsin. So I guess we do come full circle at times. I am now back in Texas and man what a difference it has made with my fibro. Since coming home I am proud to say I have NOT had a real bad flare since. Oh don't get me wrong I still flare but not the kind of flares I had in Wisconsin. There I could hardly get out of bed. Now more days than not I am up and running. I still have all of my pain medication but seldom take it. I still take one Morphine at night. (Down from 3 morning & 3 night). When the pain gets bad I will take something but for the most part I am off of everything except my heart, BP, Thyroid & Asthma meds. Before I couldn't hardly get on here because I was to sick now I barely find the time to get on because I am very busy LIVING!!!!!! But heck isn't that what life is really all about???? Anyway welcome to all our new members & HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to all You OLD FIBROMITES! Let's hope we have a great next 4 years! I hope this finds each of you as pain free as Possible. Here's Gentle Loving Fibro Hugs to each and everyone of you! Love & God Bless! Rev. Piercey-Gates/WolfPoet PS: I am adding some new photo's in a bit so look for the NEW WOLF'S ALBUM! You can look at the old and the new to see a totaly different and SKINNY WOLF!
