Use soy burger meat and low fat mozarella with lots of veggies. It's not quite the same as a Godfather's pizza but it does fulfill the craving. Give it a try!! Diane >> you can also use very thinly sliced tomatoes in lieu of tomatoe sauce. you'd be surprised at the taste. or find fat free english muffins & put on your toppings and broil for a few minutes. there are ways to get around all the fat and still have some flavor. debbie
Guest guest
Hi Friends,I hope that everyone is having a comfortable day or nite.I have found that most fat foods do not bother me any worse than fatfree. What might make me sick today might not bother me the next time I eat it.I guess I am really lucky to be able to eat fat foods on ocassion.I don't eat that much anyway and the doc has never told me to watch fat foods.I guess this is another case of whats good for one person is not good for another. Guest guest
--- Yup, that's exactly what I have found. It makes NO difference what I eat or when I eat it. Some days I am miserable and some days it doesn't bother me much. The one thing that doesn't change is that I am in pain ALL THE TIME. The only variables are the amounts- varying of course from a lot to not so much. What I get weary of is this----gee, do you think when you get some time off it will help? Or how bout this one-----do you think it is the stress? I just want to scream at them! They have no idea how much this has changed my life.....all I want is to be able to do the basic things.....thanks for letting me vent. Guest guest
- I'm sorry to hear you're in pain 24 hours a day, but it sure helps me. My GI doc keeps insisting that I couldn't possibly have 24-hour pain. And it isn't consistant - not eating makes me hurt, fats do, but sometimes I can get away with it. Today and yesterday have been major pain days but I have been eating extremely low fat these past 2 days. Anyway, you might feel as if you're just venting, but your venting sure helps me feel like my symptoms aren't quite so atypical. Guest guest
Atypical is the opposite of the typical symptoms.
Guest guest
I think that to qualify to be a GI doctor, they should have to have at least one ERCP (awake) and have chronic pancreatitis or at least have had an acute attack. Then the level of understanding and helpfulness would increase very quickly.
Guest guest
- Helen What on earth is atypical?? Everyone seems to have different symptoms at different times, huh? Anyway, let me know of other things that help, etc. I am new to all this, and sometimes I think if I just KNEW something, it would help. Not eating makes me hurt, eating makes me hurt-it's crazy just Because there is no rhyme nor reason to it all.....thanks, -- In pancreatitisegroups, Helen4@a... wrote: > - I'm sorry to hear you're in pain 24 hours a day, but it sure > helps me. Guest guest
Dear Helen, Wouldn't it be a huge step forward if the GI docs went through that?? LOL...LOL.... just picturing my doc lying there makes me laugh...and laugh... Thanks for the good laugh!!
