Hospital-Affilitated Free-Standing Clinics?

I work for a health-care system that has 3 hospitals and 4 off-site outpatient

clinics. We currently bill as hospital-based clinics, so we are not subject to

the cap. It is our understanding that reimbursement is higher for

non-hospital-based clinics. Is there anyone out there who works for a clinic

that is affiliated with a hospital, but runs itself as a seperate business

entity? Do you see an advantage in doing that?
