Lost his speech. They feel he regressed after the MMR. They didn't feel like he got much from the Birth to 3 program, but once he started Early Childhood classes he really improved. He lost his diagnoses last year and is currently in regular 1st grade. His younger brother is also Autistic and non-verbal. He is still in Early Childhood and also doing well. He is doing so well that they are going to get him therapy over the summer in the hopes that he will come around even faster than his brother. This implies that the older child didn't have ABA and that is what I need to check on, how much " traditional therapies " he actually got. There is a 3rd brother who they did not give the MMR to and is doing fine (if I remember correctly he is about 2). I know the first two kids also have gut issues. Will only eat french fries and have diarhea all the time. The father used to work with my husband and they still talk on the phone regularly, not so much about Autism though so I would have to make him ask some more questions. The mother is a diagnosed Anorexic, so I wonder if there was some sort of nutrional problems in the womb and maybe that caused some of their problems? Her shrink said she shouldn't have anymore kids after the first one, she had a deep thrombosis(? ) and wasn't suppose to excercise during pregnancy but wouldn't stop. She runs 3 hours a day on treadmill. I was told when my son was diagnosed that some kids just " come out of it " and they don't know why. Maybe that is the case here.
