Valacyclovir Hydrochloride, dosage and fever

Hi there,My son's prescription is Valacyclovir Hydrochloride, the generic form of Valtrex. Will this make a difference

because it's not the actual Valtrex? How high does the dosage go typically for a 42 pound child?Also he has very severe corn allergy and all the fever meds like Motrin, Advil and others have corn starch as the second ingredient listed! Believe it or not he never gets sick. So I'm green to it and on the rare occasion before my biomed awareness when he was baby I used to give Tylonal which is off my list now. What can I do if he gets fever?Thank you!Z
