Wendi welcome to the list. You will enjoy it. It's great!

I highly recommend the herb in capsule form - fenugreek seed. We, on this

list have discussed this quite a bit. I have used the fenugreek and had

great luck with it!!! Infact I'm going to restart it. 3 capsules 3 times a

day til your supply is up they you can discontinue. Took me about 4 to 5

days. Others says fennel seed in capsule form. I like to drink fennel tea,

but haven't tried the capsules. You can get these herbs in a healthfood

store. Look in your local phone book.

I have bfed al 5 of my kids thru teeth and everything. Your breasts will

get used to them it just takes some time. Ofcourse, you never get used to

being bitten!

Oh the fenugreek will make your sweat and urine smell like maple syrup. I

kinda like it. I do love pancakes. Now we especially like them with

peanutbutter and syrup (and whipped cream). Thanks Cherie!

>I am new to this list. My name is Wendi and I am 29 yo. I am married and

live in No. Calif. We have 2 children. A daughter (7yo) and a son (15 mo.)

who I am still nursing. I nursed my daughter until she was 13 mo. with very

little support. My husband has always been supportive but no one else was

supportive of me nursing a toddler with my daughter. Now I have surrounded

myself with accepting people. I am very committed to nursing my son until

he is at least 2 yo. The main issue I am having is that now I am in

unfamiliar territory and am becoming somewhat frustrated with certain

aspects such as his teeth and the fact that I've never had an abudance of

milk with either of them. I am afraid that I will unconciously start to

wean him because of my frustration level. With my small amount of milk it

makes a huge difference if we miss a feeding for the next day. Then he

clamps down more and I am in more pain. He doesn't really bite he just

holds on with his teeth. Anyway I have complained enough in my

introduction. I just don't have anyone to ask these questions of besides

LLL. If anyone knows some great way to increase my milk that would be

helpful. I have tried some things. I am an at home mom and we homeschool.

Sorry about the rambling intro I am a little tired this morning.

I get lonely too. My dh works 40 to 50+ hours a week. But atleast he's

here and not out of state.(navy)

But I'm a high needs person. lol.

I'm grateful to the internet for both of us.

Heres a way to make alittle $$ on the internet. www.cyberdialogue.com I've

gotten $30 from them so far and am in the process of making more.

LOL! I'm assuming your babe got a black eye in fall or something like

that???

Anytime my kids hurt themselves people always ask how it happened. I used

to get defensive. Thinking they assumed I asbused them. Now I think people

are just curious and it does give them something to talk to you about. An

icebreaker.

I guess I forgot to tell everyone about Marty's fall. He looks terrible

but it could have been worse, he missed his eye.

Marty ( 7 months) was sitting on the couch with his sister ( 4 years)

she brought him to the edge of the couch, I peeked in and thought they

looked cute. Then I heard BOOM and he was screaming. He hit his cheek

bone and has a big black eye and now it is turning some pretty colors.

I have been hearing some wonderfull stories of everyones first black

eyes. The first gade boys think he looks cool!

Thanks for the tip. I tried fenugreek tea but couldn't seem to drink enough.

Didn't really like the taste. But the capsule I'm sure I could handle. The

teeth thing is not going away. He's been using his gums before he had teeth.

He clamps down so as not to lose my nipple when he's squirming. Almost

everytime I nurse he leaves teeth marks on me. He isn't biting just holding on

with his teeth. That part I could handle if I have more milk. I'm going to get

the capsules tomorrow.

Wendi

P.s. Thanks for the welcome

Wendi,

I have the same issue with my 15 mob. I have not found anything to help, so

tell me if you do. I also have a low supply. Actually, I think he is weaning.

I go back and forth thinking he is weaning and then we spend all day nursing. I

am going to get fenugreek capsules today to try to increase my milk flow. I

think if I can do that then I think he will be gentler. We'll see. We had a

bad night last night lots of nursing and hardly any milk. I didn't sleep much.

If anything works I'll let you know.

Don't be sorry it was a great intro lot of good info.

To add to your milk supply you could try some herbs like fennell or fenugreek.

The list is diveded as to withc work better so get them both :) hehehe There

is also mother's milk tea and alot of different things you can try. If you go

to a GNC they have a book FULL of different herbs just ask the lady waht all

you can take together and buy them all that's what I did. The best that worked

for me was the Fennell I took 3 pills 3 times a day at first then worked up to

5 pills 3 times a day. You can't overdose on it but as always ask your Dr (of

course he knows nothing about herbs) And make sur eyour drinking at least 8

8oz glasses of water a day. Some peopel say drink to thurst but that doesn't

mean you can drink LESS then 8oz if your not thursty just you don't have to

drink MORE if your not :)

Glad you found this list theres some REALLY great people on here.

My son would kind of bite when he was teething but I would just say NO and

pull him off and it kind of scared him and he stoped I don't know what to do

about that problem just keep working with him I am sure once your supply gets

up he won't have to suck so hard.
