Guest guest Posted October 29, 2006 Report Share Posted October 29, 2006 Hello everyone! For you people that work in dispatch centers with 12 hour shifts: How do you accrue your vacation time? By the hour or by the day? Same for sick days... When you go to an offsite training class, how are you compensated? Right now, we work 8 hr days and we are compensated for 8 hrs while in school. If we switch to 12 hr schedules how would we figure that? How do you cover overtime? Do you ever have to work more than 16 hrs? How do you do mandatory OT? In 4 hr increments? Sorry for all of the questioins, but I'm trying to put together an informed presentation. We have 4 naysayers in our dispatch center (we had a vote, 16 want 12hrs and 4 don't).
