Guest guest
Christy - Well hopefully Tina has grown up and I certainly Pray that she has. You know that you can't give her many more of those "another chance" saves, my councelor calls it enabling. I know so well how you feel about helping your kids out, darlin don't I know. lol It might help for Tina to come back and they can do the sister thing and have each other to talk, rant and rave to each other. Heck maybe it will make you feel better about her being closer to you, so you know whats she's up to. But then that could also be bad, lol. Don't let her run you ragged! Talk about a deal on that furnishings! Wow!! I'd love to have one of those deals. Hugs,
Guest guest
Christy, I have no advice. I agree about wishing you had a crystal ball; that would make it all a lot easier. You're all in my thoughts & prayers. I'm here to listen. Hugs, -- More crap Well, Tina has decided to move back home and she'll be here on Thursday. I've been in a tizzy but I've found her an apartment (2 blocks from here... good or bad?) she can walk here to see me or she can walk to town from there (hopefully she'll find a job this weekend) and she can also walk to school which is a requirement.... she has to go back to school. She's one of those kids that can sleep through class and make all A's. With GA providing free college to kids who want to go, it's ridiculous for her to pass that up! And the classes are about a mile from where she'll be living. I've gotten the apartment, turned on the utilities and put up curtains. Ronnie and I found a tremendous bargain tonight. One of his friends had some furniture in storage that's been there since he remarried and moved in with his wife. I thought (oh great, how bad is this going to be?) Well, we got a sofa, loveseat and chair that all match... it was 2 years old when put into storage... beautiful blue chenille set!.... a microwave and a 3 year old washer and dryer set. We paid $250.00!! I am thrilled about this! After paying first and last month's rent, deposit, utilities deposits, service charge to turn on utilities, I am ready for a bargain! I wrote up a contract and Tina will have to pay all of the money back $100 each month and the rent and utilities are in my name so she has to pay them to me each month so I know it's taken care of. I'm having fun decorating the place and Ronnie said I seem happy that she's coming back. I just hope she's grown up since she left. For the past several months, her phone calls have been very level and upbeat and she even asks about me when she calls LOL The reason for the fast move: her boyfriend works at Mc's (been there 3 years and this one here said he can start work Friday!) and a man went in there last week and accused him of talking to his girlfriend (who also works there) and he cur him with a knife! Nothing really serious, just his hand and arm, but he is terrified to go back to work. Tina works at a convenience store (they live just outside of Atlanta) and that terrifies me. I think I'll worry less if she's nearby. There may be more hassles but I think I'll deal with it better than her being so far away. All I could think of when she called about being in the hospital was how long it would take me to get up there! Another good thing, we're doing one of the bedrooms for so she has somewhere to stay when she needs a "break" and she and Tina are both excited about being close to each other again. Another thing we'll have to wait and see about. Wish me luck and say a LOT of prayers please. This is going to take a lot of work and tongue holding on my part! Oh man, I hope I'm doing the right thing. Geez I wish I had a crystal ball! OK I'm stressing again! I went to bed at 8:30, I was exhausted, and now I'm up pacing the floors. I keep telling myself this is going to work and I'm doing what's best for her AND for me but then I wonder who I'm trying to convince! OK off to find the coffee! I can't wait to see what advice this brings from all of you! You know I need all I can get! Guest guest
Oh, Christy! I hope this all works out , and that Tina has matured! I'm a little leary of the room for , but I'll keep you all in my prayers. Are they bringing their animals? (I'm thinking you said they had pets?) I know my best friend had to take over her son's finances for about a year. (he's 28). She said he never had any money and was in debt. She had co-sgned for a car. She told him that he had two choices--turn over his finances to her or sell the car and pay off the loan. When he turned the stuff over she was REALLY pissed when she saw that he was earning about the same as her. She owns a home, a car, has a teenager at home and is a single mother. She still manages to save some, take a yearly vacation, and buy new clothes--all without child support from the sperm donor. He was in debt and always asking to borrow. She got him straightened out and he seems to be staying that way. Hope it works out that way for you and you don't end up paying the utilities. or anything else. Guest guest
You know, right now my biggest worry is that she'll change her mind and I've spent all this money and Ronnie has done all of this work. I keep thinking she'll call me one morning and say "Never mind, we're staying here." I tried to call her this morning and her phone has been "temporarily disconnected." Now, to me, that's the kind of disconnected from not paying your bill, not from calling and saying, we're moving and won't be living here anymore. So now I can't even check in with her and I am a bit concerned. Paranoid? Worried? Freaking out? More crap Well, Tina has decided to move back home and she'll be here on Thursday. Guest guest
Well one reason I'm having the bills sent here is that if they don't pay them one month, it's turned off and not piling up. I'm not co-signing anything with her. The rent and utilities are in my name and I can easily boot her out or turn them off. The manager let me do a month-to-month lease so that worked out well. I think with the other room thing, I'm just trying to get excited about it and not jealous or concerned. Re: More crap Oh, Christy! Guest guest
without child support from the sperm donor ROTFLMAO!!! This is what I say about the kids biological, I never got any child support from his lazy butt. At least his family totally stayed out of our lives afterwards, the only good thing they ever got from him was his Choctaw blood with a roll number! Guest guest
Is Tina going to be paying the rent directly to you as an intermediary or will she pay directly to the landlord? If I were you, if she is paying the landlord, I would ask him to let you know if she is 10 days late because then you can get on her butt in time for her to save her credit. Otherwise, she might end up not paying on time and start expecting you to bail her out. I think you are right about having her pay you the utilities direct so you know she has heat and water. I hope she will get her act together and start her classes at college because she obviously has the brains. If she finally devotes herself to achieving some specific goals, maybe she will see exactly what she is capable of and not only gain some self confidence and aim to be the best that she can be. Also with and her rekindling their relationship, let's hope it sets some new goals for both. I'm not saying just what I want to say...I can't seem to get my head together tonight. Guest guest
Kathy, I have to agree with you that I'm not sure that a room should be set up for specifically. She might just decide that she should move in with them, demand that she have her car with her, and that would definitely not be good for her as a junior in high school. I think it is alright to set up sort of a guest room for Tina but it shouldn't be called 's room...she can visit but not get comfortable with staying there on a regular basis. IMHO Jane Re: More crap Oh, Christy! I hope this all works out , and that Tina has matured!I'm a little leary of the room for , but I'll keep you all in my prayers. Are they bringing their animals? Guest guest
she wasn't coming and I drove to Dallas and killed her. She assured me they will be here on Thursday. ROTFLMAO!!!! Oh geez Christy, are you trying to put the fear of God into that child?? packed up his stuff today and we took a truck load over to his apartment after got home. No I didn't carry a thing, I let them. lol Its a one bedroom, fully furnished place. Its not to bad, and all bills are paid except phone and cable. It'll work fine for him, and since Salina is such a small town he can walk to the grocery store, laundry and post office with no problem, and just walk across the street to a bar. That is the only thing I didn't like about it. lol 's son-in-law (notice I said 's, not mine!) hasn't paid up this month for the car and is ranting and raving about going down there and stompin a mud puddle out of him. Kids!!! One of these days they'll have kids and those kids are gonna do major payback to them!! hehehehehehe
Guest guest
That's another reason I liked this apartment for Tina... walking distance to town and everything she could need. Is he in Salina, Kansas? That's where Ronnie wants us to move to. He spent several (11 or 12 I think) years in Kansas and misses it!! I spent a week there in July of ummmmmm 1992, 93?, and had a nearby tornado scare the beejeebies out of me. That was enough for me. We do have some really dear friends there though that Ronnie served in the army in Germany with and I'm sure he has many good memories there. Is working? Guest guest
I promised I would never tell my kids to just wait until they had children of their own; & I didn't - until just before Amy got married (she just pushed too far that time). Now when she tells me what her kids (especially Cate) are doing, & how tired she is, & how hard it is - I can just smile & say, "Yes, I know." -- Re: More crap And as we all know from our Mom's telling us, LOL--paybacks are hell. Guest guest
Christy, I hope it all works out! Someone may have brought this up all ready but by fixing up a room for Mandi to have may be setting up her up to have sex. Just something I thought of. Shirley -- More crap Well, Tina has decided to move back home and she'll be here on Thursday. Guest guest
No we're in Salina, OK just east of Tulsa. Funny thing tho is I do have lots of cousins in Salina, KS! lol Its so pretty up there in the summer all the wheat fields swaying in the wind, looks like a golden ocean. 's been working almost 2 years now, I guess, at Tyco. They make the big rolls of plastic wrap, like what you would wrap a pallet in, if anyone knows what I'm talking about. He makes almost $12 a hour now and has 4 or 5 people working under him, he's lead man or something like that. He's worked since he was in high school, mainly working a c-stores while we lived in Texas. He rarely misses work, even if he's sick. Hopefully he can find him a cheap realiable auto soon. He doesn't have great luck with vehicles, lol. He did sell his truck to a guy who owns a wrecking yard, he's gonna give hime $200 for it. Its better than not getting anything for it, plus the guy will tow it off Friday. Then I don't have to look at it sitting in our driveway. lol

Guest guest
No, she is "revirginated" LOL and says she's a virgin again and she's staying that way. Still on the patch to keep me happy but she hasn't done it in 3 months now and her new BF is a virgin and wants to stay that way. She says she's found out there are too many hassles involved with sex right now and she just wants to have fun. Of course there ARE things that, thanks to a president I won't name, are not considered sex. Also, Tina is stricter on her than I am LOLOL That won't happen. She won't have a key to the apartment... only allowed there when Tina is home. More crap Well, Tina has decided to move back home and she'll be here on Thursday. Guest guest
She's paying to me. I'm sub-leasing. I went to a website today and did a contract up for the lease and also for the money we've already spent that she has to pay back. There's a clause she has to sign allowing me to handle her wages and bill payments if she is more than 10 days late. She also pays her utilities to me so I can turn them off before it gets out of hand and too late. She just called and they WILL be here tomorrow. I understand Jane. Trust me. I do. I am so hoping this works out. Won't be the first time she's screwed me if it doesn't but I swear it will be the last! At least THIS time I'm going in with eyes wide open and fully prepared. Guest guest
Christy, just how often do you use the word "bejeebies" to describe something. I couldn't believe that 2 emails before this one, I used that word in it and I bet I haven't used that word in a year at least. Now to use it and see someone else use it so soon afterwards is spooky.
