HI, well water is about the only thing I can drink that doesn't give me

heartburn, though sometimes it does. I think it did start suddenly one day, its

hard to remember. I have had problems with acid reflux alot, but NOT like this.

I have been scoped, my staple line is fine. I have to have an endoscopy done on

August 19, and I have to have a sonogram of my gall bladder on August 8.

Hopefully everything there will turn out fine. The hardest part like I said is

the constent naeusea and heartburn. I hate it. I eat tums and rolaids daily,

take nexium and prilosec, but it just helps alittle bit. My dad said drink milk,

but someone else said milk is bad for ulcers. So any ideas? Let me know.

Thanks.

Thats just it, the doctors don't know whats wrong. My doctor in Greenville NC,

the ones who did the surgery, think its an ulcer, thats why they ordered an

endo. My main doctor has ordered a sonogram of my gallbladder and another

x-ray, and before that I had an colonoscopy. I just hope they figure out soon

what it is. I actually ate a little bit of a taco supreme, the smaller one,

and didn't have heartburn, but I only ate two or three bites, my sons ate the

rest. Thanks foro the encouragement, I'll let everyone know what they find out.

I have a sick gallbladder right now and my reflux seems to be coming back. I

m not sure if the two are related, but they seem to have started around the

same time. I can't have a SLD because I'm transected. Good luck with the doc

I hope they figure it out soon for you!

Marilyn, I looked at your pictures and I can sure tell a difference.

I think most of us have difficulty seeing the loss in ourselves. I

know I do, so I just try to keep focused on other changes I see -

like my clothes fitting looser, and being able to tie my shoes and

cut my toenails easier, and not having to completely squash myself to

get the seatbelt in my DH's truck buckled. In fact, as I have

mentioned before, I don't even have scales and don't plan to get any.

I only weigh at the doctor's office.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks Sherri,

I don't have scales at home either. I won't weigh myself unless I go to the

doctors office. I'd be to scared of not losing anything. I know some that do get

on the scale everyother day or something, but I'm not going to depress myself

like that. I like looking at the monthly weigh ins and feel good about losing

the weight.

Welcome to our group, Marie. Glad to have you with us. Your big day is coming

coming through in time until someone tells you differently. But they won't.

I hope they figure it out soon for you. That acid is so uncomfortable. That

was one of the main reasons I had WLS in the first place. My reflux was so

bad and my lungs were getting very damaged. Good luck with the tests! I'll

be praying for a speedy resolution to whats going on with ya!

Hi Layne,

Do you have an angel? If not, I would like to volunteer. Email me

privately at noliptoday@... and give me the info on the hospital, phone

number and such, your real name, first and last, and who will be with you

please, also your home number so I can call ya the night before, for

encouragement. And check on ya after your home too. That way I can check

on you and let the group know how you are doing, until your able to get back

online.

If you already have an angel, terrific......

Hello, everyone. I am new to this group, but I belong to the Wings of

WLS in Huntsville, AL. I've been through the whole process: initial

appt., insurance approval, surgery scheduling, etc. I am scheduled for

surgery on Monday, August 12th. That is just the day after tomorrow. I

can hardly believe it.

I just happened upon your egroup and thought I would pop in to say

hello. Please pray that the Lord will be with me through it all and He

will guide my surgeons hands.

Oh, by the way, I also heard about a good cookbook " Bowens'

Recipes for Gastric Bypass Patients " . Does anyone know how to get it?

God Bless!!

Hi Gwen, welcome. Please know you will be lifted up in prayers from our

have a better chance of dying driving your car, than having this

surgery..... so.... hang in there, and know you are being prayed for.

This is my first post to this board.I find all of you so helpful with my

A-fib problems. So let me say thanks before I fill you in.

I have had A-fib on and off for 9 years.I am 61 years old. I also have

uncontrolled hypertension.I have been cardioverted 6 times. The longest I

have remained out of a-fib has been 1 year. The shortest was 3 months. I

have been in nsr since March. My concern is the list of med's that I take. I

take covera, maxide, toporol, diovan, cardura, and betapace. Everything is

once a day except the betapace. That's twice a day.Everything is at the max

dosage except toporol.Have any of you heard of anyones taking so many med's.

Needless to say I am exhausted all the time..My Cardiologist said I am not a

candidate for ablation.

So anyone out there in the same boat as me,I'd love to hear from you.

Your all so wonderful. You have made many a bad day for me, not seem so bad

but just by reading on this board. Thank God for all of you.
