Guest guest
Hi Peggy Im deb. Well the problem with having both fibro and diabetes is the burning pain can be from either one of those conditions. Eventually your doctor may prescribe neurotin if that symptom gets really bad, its used for both diabetic neuropathy and the burning pain in fibro. The knee problem and climbing stairs is very common in fibromyalgia. I think most of us have many different disorders, fibro just being the common one with us. I do take tramadol but not cymbalta. Im sure others may use the combination. We all have such different symptoms and react differently to meds. I have been diagnosed for about 4 years but have had it for at least 7 years. It sure can make you feel like a freak ! So Peggy what else did your doctor tell you that you need to do other than just take meds? deb
Guest guest
Peggy I answered your other post. I thought of a question though, how long have you been on the medications? deb
Guest guest
Hi Peggy! Welcome to our group! Nothing you've mentioned sounds strange. Fom what I've learned it affects everyone in differents areas and also similar. Some are bothered more in their upper body while others find it centers on a dofferent area for them. Myself I have it everywhere but my lower body( legs ,knees, hips) are most often worse. I myself have diabetes, hypothyroid, rheumatoid arthritis, FM and other minor problems. This you will find seems t be normal for those of us with this condition...( I mean to have multiple diagnoses) Walking upstairs and peddling a bike ecspecially a stationary bike just kills my knees and legs...Your right they seem so heavy and the pain can be intolerable. Hope this helps Peggy "hugs" irishrae58 wrote: Just wanted to thank you for allowing me to join this group. I've needed to be able to communicate with others who have fibro as no one around me understands. I posted one message this a.m. but I think I sent it to cybor-space; I have no idea where it went.A little about myself. My name is Peggy and I live in Michigan's upper peninsula. I'm married, have two grown sons and am expecting my 4th grandchild any day now.I was recently diagnosed with fibro although I know I've had it for some time. Unfortunately, I also have a number of other problems: diabetes, DDD, pernicious anemia, sleep apnea, migraines, and arthritis. I have days where I'm literally falling apart! My rheumatologist has me on Cymbalta and Tramadol for the fibro. Is this a common duo? I have a lot of swelling and burning pain along with trouble with my legs, especially walking up stairs. Is this part of it too? I can't tell what symptoms go with what ailment anymore.Again, I want to thank you all and hopefully I can be of help to some of you also.Peggy Find your next car at Yahoo!
