I've never attended even a Fun Day, much less an SRD. I had no clue what all the hoopla was about. The packet I received didn't have nearly the info that you just gave us. I am going to print this out to take to my chapter. None of us know anything about it and when I mention the at our meetings the dates of SRD they keep asking me what is so special about it to make it worth spending all that money. Now I know! Guest guest Posted February 11, 2005 Report Share Posted February 11, 2005 Wow, I think Betty really is PASSIONATE about SRD!! And talk about "WORK" with a capital "W", she has worked her bunns off!! (Betty, you should be having good losses with "NO BUNNS"?) LOL Everybody is working hard, so we hope to make this SRD one of the BEST YET!! Since some of you already know about the theme and location of next year's SRD, it's not hard to figure out that more than a year's worth of work and planning go into these SRDs - - - they don't just happen with a spur-of- the-moment idea! And folks in Texas don't realize how fortunate they are to have such grand SRDs. Recently an Area Captain from Ohio visited my chapter and she told me that they don't have SRDs very often - - just ARDs. So we are really lucky to have what we have - - - but if everybody doesn't support the SRDs by making extra special efforts to be there, Texas may not get to have them indefinitely either! It not only takes a lot of planning to pull off these conventions, it takes a lot of MONEY, and the success depends on the participation of the whole membership. I know that you and Clara will be sooooo busy coordinating, hosting, and entertaining all of the guests from across the state that you've invited to your little weekend shindig! ;-) Even if you can't be there by 9p.m..... call when you're finished with things and maybe we'll still be 'visiting' at the Clarion. And if you can't make it, hopefully all of us will be at the Roundhouse Rally at the Clarion on Friday night. Any idea of how many 'guests' are expected to attend this year's SRD? I don't think I ever heard the final count of how many attended in Waco. Thank you for giving us an overview of the event in your own words. As if I already wasn't excited enough about it!!! We'll have to read your email to our chapters to give them an idea of what's to come.
