Guest guest
Barbara, Hang in there. For a while I was also hiving whenever I wore a watch. I have recently started wearing one again, and knock on wood, I am not responding! Of course, now I have changed and started getting hives wherever my bra or underwear meet my skin tightly. I am thinking of looking into this anti-yeast diet. Maybe it will help with the hives and help me lose some weight? I have been working out multiple times a week, and I don't feel like I'm getting anywhere. To everyone- it's so nice to know that I'm not alone with this. I wish that none of us had this struggle. Guest guest
To Brilliantb@... Hello, well, you are not alone... I have gone from a size 6 to a size 12 and large in somethings. This is partially due to the Prednisone that I am on, but I am now down to 7mg per day and tapering really slow.... 1 mg every two weeks... seems to be working. I was on three different anti-histamines (Allegra, Periactin, and Ranididine) I was also on a cold tablet called Duratuss. I quit all of these to see what would happen... NOTHING! I still have a little breaking out when I wear something other than cotton. My skin texture has changed completely and I wear nothing but cotton. Had to make my own bras, Found a bra that the elastic and all the other spandex and lycro are covered with the cotton, so nothing is touching me. IT does seem though that when I wear something that is really tight such as a bra... I get some breaking out wherever it is tight. I seem to be getting better...taking it really really slow though. It also seems to be worse when my period starts, but the doctors, as usual, laugh everytime I bring up my period and my hormone change around my cycle saying that no it has nothing to do with it...although I am 50 now. RIght!!! Anyway, I started swelling around my face and having breaking out ... so I was introduced to a totally natural vitamin of sorts called Juice Plus... it works and all that on my face and neck went away. Most people take two of each in the morning and night. I take four each in the morning and night. My skin has changed texture again, my hair and nails feel better... I just feel better. If you want to know more about this ... just write me... mitchellja@... or mitchellja@.... I would love to get you started on this stuff... I really do believe it works. I am now having trouble with osteoarthritis in my knees.. does anyone think that maybe all this is related to my chronic urticaria? Let me know. Good luck to you all..... I don't know what I would do without this group! No matter what anyone says... it does help. M Wendell & Would some extra money help? The bad news is that I can't wear my regular clothes. The good news is that I can't wear my regular clothes because they won't fit. Now, I can't wear a bra, jewelry, anything but cotton all year round, but now I am a chubbette. Adding to this, I have a rash on my face. At least my fat face had good skin but that's changed too. Did anyone get a patch of rash on their face?I don't think that I have to worry about the auditions for Secrets modelling jobs.Barbara from Boston~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~If you do wish to unsubscribe then you can click on the following link: <mailto:urticaria-unsubscribeegroups>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~This list is in the service of those who suffer from Chronic Urticaria (hives). Guest guest
Hi, Does anyone know if Zyrtec causes any weight gain. My daughter has been on 20mg a day for about 9 months now and we have noticed that the last few months she seems to be hungry all the time and has also developed a little tummy and added a few pounds (which doesn't bother me because I always thought she was too thin). Anyway this does bother her and I told her it could just be that she is getting ready for a growth spurt (she is almost 12) but I didn't know if it could also be related to the Zyrtec. Thanks, Donna (Richmond,IN)
Guest guest
Dear , Since I teach aerobics as one of my myriad of intellectual jobs, I had to find a bra to wear. Would you believe that I found white cotton athletic bras in the drug store 2 for $10. They work for the short time that I teach. They are white and the elastic is covered. I bought extra large so that there's no pressure. Thanks for the info Barbara
Guest guest
Shona, I know what you mean. I am hoping that when I am stable I will be able to weigh and measure my food so that I can take off some of this fat. Barbara
Guest guest
I take 4 Zyrtec a night. I would also be interested to see whether my weight gain and inability to take it off, in spite of my added exercise, had something to do with the drug. Guest guest
Dear Shona I am on 4 Claritin in the AM and 4 Zyrtec in the evening. I also take Benadryl and Tavist. Who knows, maybe there's a link. Sometimes I think that experientially we are smarter than the docs. Barbara in Boston

I don't think that I have to worry about the auditions for Secrets modelling jobs. LOL Me either but I still don't have any problem looking at them and wishing! I didn't get any rash on my face but I get these hot 'episodes' where my cheeks and ears will get super red and extremely hot. I can hold an ice cube to it and it will melt upon contact! Another divine mystery.......
Guest guest
I am on zirtec and clarityn and have experienced a great deal of weight gain. I should have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow and will ask about it, it may be cancelled but I will let you know what I find out. No doubt he will tell me that antihistamines do not cause weight gain, but after all of these emails I will enlighten him. Shona =
