Dear friends,

Greetings from International Training and Education Centre, Chennai (I-TECH,

India).

we have produced video educational material on opportunistic infectionsand are

pleased to announce that the Opportunistic Infections (OI) video case series for

medical educators are released. The OI video cases were developed in

collaboration with Government Hosptial of Thoracic Medicine, Tambaram and

University of Washington (UW) with funding from U.S department of Health and

Human Services, HRSA.

This series of video cases is designed to assist clinicians in recognising and

correctly diagnosing and managing HIV opportunistic infections. Viewers are

challenged to assess the onscreen patient history, physical examination, and

reach conclusions about potential differential diagnoses and appropriate lab

investigations.

The video package contains 5 cases of Opportunistic Infections, namely,

Pneumocyctis Jeroveci pneumonia

Acute community Acquired Pneumonia

Pulmonary Tuberculosis

Cryptococcal Meningitis

Cerebral Toxoplasmosis

These five cases can be presented singly or as a series, as dictated by the

audience, training objectives, work setting, and time constraints. Each of the

cases stands alone as a training tool and can be used in a variety of contexts.

These video cases and Facilitator’s Guide are designed for group sessions,

however even self-directed learners will derive benefit from watching the videos

and using the worksheets.

Our team of Clinicians would like to share this video and do a training program

using these cases for the students/trainees at your esteemed institution at a

mutually convenient date and time. Kindly contact Ms.Rajalaxmi at 09841351593/

e-mail: Rajalaxmi@... for further details. We look forward to your

response regarding the demonstration of the videos by ITECH clinical experts at

your institution/organization.

Thanking you,
