Guest guest
Hi Jodi Well congratulations.....but the whole thing still leaves me very unsettled. This guy has some major screws loose!! You would think after this (ie. the investigator) that he would know not to " tangle " with you and move himself somewhere else yet he turns around and continues!! He's definitely not all there. I hate to burst your bubble, and being a little prejudice around the sickos you guys seem to harbor there in the States, document, document, document. If he does one more thing--ANYTHING--talk to your brother (or was it brother in law??) the lawyer. Does he think you need a restraining order?? This guy is a serious head case. I don't want to frighten you--and you would know best since you are living in it if it's just a typical male immature response to his being reprimanded (I'll get you!! mentality) or do you get the idea there may be more brewing??? Take care of yourself. And lets hope after Thanksgiving, Niles has been mysteriously transferred to another school!!!!! When is your Thanksgiving anyway?? Guest guest
I am documenting, believe me! I just know it is only a matter of time before Niles does something again. It may not be to me, but it will be to someone. Our Thanksgiving is on Thursday. I really need this break. Between my two root canals, the cold I now have and the stress of school, I need to have a few days off to sleep and recover. Guest guest
Hi Jodi Good for you. But I have to tell you it never rains but it pours where you are and where I am. On Friday I found my thermostat was not operating my furnace. I couldn't get the kids out of bed it was so dam cold. So I called the gas company and Friday night a " girl " fixer came (yes I was shocked). Anyway she spent an hour and a half tinkering around. She discovered the guy last month had put on the wrong motor and I had an incorrect pulley on the furnace and the belt was shot. So she replaced all this with the promise of returning on Sunday to install the new motor. Saturday morning at 5:45 a.m. I hear the most horrendous sound coming from downstairs. I figured the furnace was blowing up. I ran and was so scared I first hit every wall in my bedroom trying to find the door out (stupid me rearranged my bedroom friday night so I was so disorientated I couldn't get out). Ran to the thermostat and shut the furnace off. Guess what?? It's still going!! So I fly downstairs (and I mean fly) figuring I'd find flames shooting out of the thing and I hit the emergency switch (Thank God I had asked exactly where the dam emergency switch was). So no chance of sleeping in now on my precious Saturday. I called the gas company at 6 a.m. and was told a guy would be out between 10-2. Well he came around 12 and proceeded to tell me the motor was fine and the lose parts that didn't fit into the supposed good motor he ripped them out (I was dying of a heart attack). He found out the pulley the lady from the night before installed and not been secured and this thing was whaling around my furnace. Fine, he goes. I have heat for all of an hour and then I notice again, my thermostat won't switch the heat on unless I crank it to the top. But I knew she was coming today so I stuck it out. Missed out on my weekend of Xmas shopping completely. Fine today at 4:30 ANOTHER guy comes. I said " hey where's the lady " he says " oh home I'm sure her shift is over. " So I explain the whole sorry story AGAIN to this nut and he gives me the look like Stupid Female. So I go upstairs. Next thing I know I can hear him on his cell and he's asking questions like " what do I do? " " I can't see how this goes on " and I just loose it. I called my dad and begged him to come over and sit with me and see what this idiot was doing. So he came. Soon another guy decides to show and give the " new " guy a hand. Finally someone who knows what to do. So they replace the motor. Great. Now there is something wrong with the blower. So they take that a part and put on another new belt. Then their new motor starts to make horrible noises. So they sit down on my laundry room floor and start to read the instruction booklet. AAAAHHHH aren't you guys trained??? Long story short--they replaced every single part of the furnace,, because as they worked they seemed to " break " another part. Finally they were adjusting piping up in the ceiling that they had loosed with all their banging and crashing around. AFter 4 hours of this...they had the baby back together and it sounded OK. So I drove my dad home. Get back and my house is easily over a 100 degrees. I go to turn down the thermastat......NOTHING. I shut it off NOTHING. The dam thing is running at full tilt and will not register enough heat and shut itself off!!!!! So what am I left to do tonight?? My alarm is set for about every 2 hours...go down and turn it on...run it for an hour....get up again and go shut it off for 2.....then run it for an hour. And hope the hell someone comes and fixes it RIGHT tomorrow. The total bill so far????? Just under 2,000.00 Thank God I have warranty protection. I pay just under a hundred bucks a year for the last 5 years and look what I got back. Thank God for that insurance!!!!!!!! Anyway, the saga will continue tomorrow and probably the day after that and the day after that. It's ironic...I go from freezing to death with no heat to my house heating up to the point that I am afraid it's going to explode!!!! Anyway....it's just about time for me to go turn the thing off for a while. It's going to be a long night Debby z4all wrote: > I am documenting, believe me! Guest guest
How ironic--we are having a problem with our furnace too! Fortunately, ours is not as bad as yours! good luck!
Guest guest
I'm afraid to say it, but my furnace (actually both of them here at home) is running just fine. The service men were here last week and got them up and running. That is why we have a service contract. We have been caught too many times with problems just when we needed them most. Now each fall and spring, the men come, change the filters, check everything out and we are assured of healthy and safe heat/air. Now, please don't think we have this huge house or anything. The reason we have two is because several years ago we did some renovations and it was less expensive to have separate units for the upstairs and downstairs than it would have been to have one larger new one for the whole house. It has saved us many times - not only in heating and cooling bills, but when one breaks, then we have another floor to go to for heat or cooling. I hope you are warm and cozy. I am feeling no pain because the endodontist prescribed more pain meds and some other med and my tooth barely hurts now. Teaching tomorrow should be fun.... Guest guest
Oh Jodi Considering what I just went through (read previous email--but the fixer guys left the jumper cables on the furnace so it was running continuously!!!!!) You just busted my gut!! I needed that laugh right now. What a howl. Thanks for telling me....that is too much. PS How is your furnace? Guest guest
Well the final Mr Fix it came tonight. Accidentally cut off a major power wire and blew my circuit breaker (!!!!) but I seem to be running fine. That was one and sometimes two service people a night since Friday night (so that's 5 nights!!) I need sleep desperately! Like I said before.....if you feel like sharing those great drugs I'm sure I would no longer notice I have no heat!!!! Have fun at work (OH at our work, we are now signing up for the dreaded picket line duties...I guess the board is threatening big time now to lock us out we've been doing work to rule since Oct. 23) Right before Christmas and I'll get a piddle 50.00 a day picket pay!!!!! Let's hope it doesn't come to that!!!!! Santa will be extra poor this year!! Debby z4all wrote: > I'm afraid to say it, but my furnace (actually both of them here at home) is > running just fine.
