Population Foundation of India is a non-governmental funding and

promoting organisation for developing as well as implementing gender

sensitive population and development policies, plans and programs.

Population Foundation of India is one of the principal recipients

for the program " Access to Care and Treatment-ACT " of the Global

Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (Round 4) to provide

care and treatment services to people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHAs)

in 6 high prevalence states of India for a period of 5 years. PFI

has established 6 state programme coordination offices including the

state of Manipur.

PFI is interested in recruiting a State Programme Coordinator for

leading the State of Manipur for the Phase-II operations from April

2007 to March 2010. He will be overall in charge of the state and

assist the Project Management Unit in New Delhi for effective

management and monitoring of the programme. Postgraduates in social

work/social sciences with 5 to 6 years of experience will be

preferred. Knowledge of computers is a MUST. Proficiency in local

language is required. Project will involve extensive travel. In

addition to the above, the following traits and qualities would be

expected from the selected candidate:

1. Assists the Project Management Unit in all functions &

operations and to successfully lead the State Level operations for

achieving the project objectives.

2. Possesses the following CRITICAL ATTRIBUTES

• Administrative Skills

• Logistics/Event Management

• Functional & documentation skills

• Interpersonal & Communication Skills

• Team Player

• Willing to travel extensively within the state.

3. Reports functionally & administratively to the Sr. Program

Manager.

4. Job Responsibilities would include:

• To supervise the project implementation in the state.

• To liaise with identified NGO/local authorities including

SACS or any other relevant stakeholder for better coordination and

implementation of the project.

• To coordinate with sub-grantees for implementation of

activities and for timely submission of Monthly/quarterly MIS

reports and forward the same to PMU for feedback and decisions.

• To organize/participate in State Level programmes in

consultation with PMU and other stake holders.

• To coordinate with Sr. Grants Manager/Procurement & Supply

Officer for timely supply of materials for distribution.

• Follow up of Internal Control Systems, for financial

transactions and system integrity.

• Prepare monthly coordination plan and report on the same to

PMU

• Submission of periodical reports and accounts to PMU

• Any other jobs as and when entrusted by the Sr. Managers,

Project Director & Executive Director, PFI.

Short listed candidates will be called for interview on 21 April

2008, in New Delhi.

Candidates complying with the above prerequisites and who can join

immediately need to apply on or before 11th April 2008, enclosing

their detailed cv along with a write up in not more than 200 words

detailing their expertise in programme management, coordination,

reporting, MIS systems and capability to adhere to rules and

regulations. The consolidated fee will be Rs. 30,000 per month.
