I'm so excited for you!!!! I didn't get headaches, I had the runs

really really bad. This used to happen when I would get stressed as a

kid.

think I might have actually convinced her to have it done, I guess

my hospital bills and other supporting bills have finally gotten paid

by my insurance, all total over $52,000 was billed, they paid right at

$25,000 and that was just for 1 night in the hospital. That is what is

wrong with insurance, they will take a 27,000 right off because the

insurance company say so, but if you were paying cash they would sure

not give u over 50% off.

Well I look forward to being a member of this group, and I will be

Hi !!!!

Welcome to the group!! I'm glad you joined!! My name is , I

had surgery Aug. 17, 2004. I weighed 266 lbs and I have lost 125 of

those pounds. I was a compulsive overeater. The surgery has helped me

tame this.

If you have any questions please feel free to come and ask them. :)

Hugs!!!

Hi I am new to this group and I am in the process of having Gastric

Bypass done and I am wondering how you handle it afterwards. I am a

stress eater and a bordem eater. How you do handle those trigger times

now??? I am hoping to learn how to cope with those times prior to

surgery but it is hard to retrain the brain.

Just looking for a little help.

Thanks in advance

paula

a,

You will learn that at first you are concentrating on your recovery and then

as the weight comes off the stress level goes done as does the boredom because

you will have so much more energy you won't have time to get bored. I was an

eater for every emotion. Now I find I just deal with it. Yes, I still have

food setbacks (I'm four years post op), but I don't let them control my life.

My stomach definitely tells me when I'm done binging and it is quite soon after

I start. Then I'm miserable for about an hour and I swear off binging ever

again. I do that about once a month. I do gain a little weight 15 to 20 pounds

every winter and then I realize that my summer clothes won't fit and I go back

to the pouch rules and I'm ready for summer. You will do just fine. Trust

yourself, your stomach, your therapist and your nutritionist.

Hi a!!!!

It is just different. You can't overeat like you are used to now. It

isn't the same. You don't have that full-satisfied feeling. There are

some who are able to find new coping skills like walking, working

out, talking things out when before they didn't. I started going to

therapy a few months ago and this has helped me tremendously. I also

was a compulsive over eater and a boredom eater.

Good luck to you!!!!

Hugs!!
