Guest guest
A great big CONGRATULATIONS for you!!!!! _____ From: GastricBypass-LOSERS [mailto:GastricBypass-LOSERS ] On Behalf Of carmenz2qt Sent: Thursday, March 09, 2006 10:44 AM To: GastricBypass-LOSERS Subject: Hi!!! FIRSTS for me.... Just had to post, I usually stay pretty dormant and lurk but I had surgery on Feb 16th, 3 weeks today and I've had so many firsts I just had to tell someone!! This past weekend I took my kids bike riding at the lake for the first time and didn't get tired, or quit, we rode 3 miles up and down hills. They had such a great time and so did I. My kids even commented that I had never ridden bikes with them before and since the birth of my daugher 6 years ago and all this weight gain, I rarely did anything active with them, I am usually just the watcher of activities. I must brag too that my heightest weight was 362, I was 340 at my pre op consult, I was 329 the day of surgery and now 3 weeks later I am 299!!!!!! I was so excited to break the 300, I will never be there again and although I've got a long way to go, 299 sounds so much better than 300!!! Went to the gym and celebrated with a 20 minute bike ride, a 30 minute tread mill walk and a 3 minute elliptical machine struggle!!! (never could even fathom that scary machine before this)... A good day to all!!! Carmen We are a very active support group. If the email becomes overwhelming, please change your setting to NO EMAIL! Please contact Group Creator Robyn@... Guest guest
Hello Carmen a fellow lurker. I am no longer a lurker either. Hugs to breaking into the twos. I was 326 on my surgery date. What a great feeling isn't it!!! Guest guest
I was feeling so good and then I swore I wouldn't weigh again for a week but I did and today was back up two pounds. BACK in the 3's. It's discouraging. I thought at three weeks out there would be a daily weight loss. I'm working out more than ever, doing things I haven't before..... Is this normal?????? > > > > Just had to post, I usually stay pretty dormant and lurk but I had > > surgery on Feb 16th, 3 weeks today and I've had so many firsts I > just > > had to tell someone!! Guest guest
From what i have heard this is normal, the more u work out the more muscle you gain, and muscle weights more than fat, it will come off just don't give up!!!!! carmenz2qt wrote: I was feeling so good and then I swore I wouldn't weigh again for a week but I did and today was back up two pounds.
