Guest guest
Hi Gang: I'm having the worst problem with water retention. I've always retained water like the Hoover Damn...but I can drink all day and not pee at all then 8 or 9 pm comes and I can't stay off the pot. Being WLS patients, I've been instructed no diuretics...any advice suggestions for natural diuretics ro things that might help? Thanks so much! Guest guest
JILL- I USED TO WORK IN THE WEIGHT LOSS INDUSTRY AND OUR FAVORITE SUGGESTIONS WERE HOT WATER WITH LEMON OR CRYSTAL LIGHT LEMONADE. BOTH ARE EXCELLENT DIURETICS. REBECCA FROM MIAMI > > Hi Gang: > I'm having the worst problem with water retention. Guest guest
I know this may seem trivial to some of you - but I had to put my kitty to sleep last night and I'm utterly devastated. I just had to share. He was only 2 1/2 yrs old but has had a blocked bladder 3 times over the past 4 months. I've spent over $2,000 to fix him, and finally his little bladder just couldn't take it anymore. He was very sick and I had to make the decision to put him down last night. It was dreadful and he was like my kid, so I'm very upset today. Just had to share. Other than that the Weight Loss is going great. Guest guest
Jill, I am so sorry to hear about your kittie. Regardless of who or what it was to anyone else, he was special to you, and you are the one mourning. You have every right to feel sad, and I feel sad for you and your loss. Pets can be like our children. I am thinking about you, and hoping you feel better soon. Guest guest
Jill, I am so sorry for your loss. It is never easy to have to make that decision and I dread the time I have to do so for my clan. It won't be far off either. I have 3 geriatric dogs, 1 chocolate lab-17 yrs, 1 lab/shepard mix - 17 yrs and a cocker spaniel - 13 yrs. We had a cat, a beautiful calico, but I had to take her for the shot 2 yrs ago. She was 14 and her kidneys were failing. I understand your heartbreak. I will keep you and your kitty in my prayers. Again I am so sorry for your loss. Guest guest
Hi Jill, I also have chronic water retention problems. We tried tapering me off the diurectics post operatively but no luck. Im 20 months out, and down about 150#s and will always have problems. I was told that it is all in how much we drink at this point. When I told my doctor that I was drinking 124 oz. a day of water she said to me " well duh ya dummy. A person should not drink much more than the 64oz a day suggested. Are you drinking a lot more than that? Maybe you are having the same problem. I got so used to drinking my fluids that I did not even realize over time, how much I was able to consume. Salt will definately make it worse, and sometimes doesn't sneak up on you for days. Taking diurectics is a dangerous game because they deplete the body of necessary electrolytes. I do not suggest anyone take even homeopathic ones if the doctor says not to. Just back away from the water glass...easier said that done. For me, I have permentantly damaged the capillary beds in my legs and will always swell them up (with a heart problem to boot). I have to stay " dry " . thus my doctor put me back on a low dose medication. I would look at your diet first, rather than look for a quick fix that could possibly be dangerous. Good luck...I know exactly how you feel. I always feel like a blowfish when I am in overload LOL Kat Welcome Kelsie, You will love it here, > we are a very active and talkative > > group:) > > > > (http://lilypie.com/) > > > > > >
