and Harry,

Since you two are the biggest advocates for Dr. Bernstein's diet and

findings, I would like you to ponder this point which was pointed out to me

by a wise doctor once when I was looking into a particular treatment. His

point was this - If a doctor is selling his books, cd's, or treatment for

money, then he will only show or tell you the good stuff from his research.

If it is so good, then it would not cost money and be adopted, covered by

insurance, and paid for by the health care system and everybody else. And

on that point I bid you good night.

Well I paid the same money for the CD's and it is helping me as well. I

don't post much, but I read every thing and every one teaches me some thing

that helps me to deal with this type 2 diabetes that I fell in to around 5

years ago. I ate the ADA diet for the first 4 years and my A1C has continued

to rise higher and higher. I guess I am a nut as well, but I to believe in

Bernstein's way of eating to control my sugar and prolong my life.

I am a big boy and weigh around 300 pounds. Most of my weight has came

from eating way to many carbs my whole life and it hasn't done me much good.

I haven't mastered the Bernstein way of eating all the way as of yet, but I

am getting closer. I believe we just naturally crave those foods that aren't

good for us and we have been brain washed to think we have to have them in

order to be happy.

I have noticed though, that when I eat lots of fast acting carbs, I get

hungry just a few hours later. But when I eat like DR. Bernstein says to

eat, I don't get hungry between meals. I feel a lot better and so far I only

take pills for my diabetes. I'm all ready totally blind, so no need to worry

about losing the eye sight.

I work full time on a saw line and haven't noticed the lack of energy

from cutting out the fast acting carbs that I use to eat by the boat loads.

I feel the man has the right to sell his advice to those of us that want a

better way of life and to help beat this disease or at least hold it at arms

length for a long time. If his advice was free, well I probably wouldn't be

buying none of it my self.

We all have to find the information out there that best fits us and our

likes. No one is in charge of our life but us. I just feel like this

Bernstein fellow has the information that best fits me right now in my

present life. I sent him the cash he ask for and in return he sends me a few

CD's that has changed my life and the way I feel each day. My 2 hour sugar

is coming back down where it should be and I actually feel wonderful, but I

will admit that giving up all the white stuff in your diet will make you

feel like crap for about ten days. It's kind of like coming down off of

drugs and I use to do those bad things as well in my younger and stupid

days.

All I know for sure, is the ADA diet that they tell you about when you

first find out you are now a diabetic doesn't work. Way to many carbs per

meal and I never could control my 2 hour sugar levels. I for one love fresh

veggies of any kind and that really helps to eat the Bernstein way. Like

said, not every one will buy what he is saying and that is just the

way the old world goes around. My advice is to ask God to direct you in

picking out who to believe and go for that way. But if you aren't the

Praying kind, then just go with the program that makes you happy and may you

enjoy a long life with the best health you can have. Thanks for allowing me

to ramble and I will always be here listening and learning.
