Guest guest
A search of the internet shows that Apidra is a short-acting and fast-acting insulin like Humalog and Novolog. A search of the web page reveals that it is produced by the same company that produces Lantus. It does not reveal the duration, how long the insulin remains actdive in the body once injected either via a syringe or a pump. I suspect it is very similar to Humalog and Novolog duration. new insulin > Has anyone heard of Apidra? Guest guest
Thanks Harry. That is what I found too; but I am interested to know the time span. I have a Dr. friend looking it up in the website to which he pays money for! He is likely to get more info. Guest guest
Hi, Has anyone heard about this product that suppose to be coming on the market called silvelin? I might not have the spelling right but that's the way it sound. My dietitian told me that it suppose to help with your insulin if you have some type of thyroid problem. She said that it also helps you lose weight. It's taken by giving yourself a shot. I don't no anything else about it but she's suppose to let me no more about it at my next appointment. Guest guest
I've heard of it, and I think it's similar to Humalog or NovoRapid ... it might be faster acting or shorter duration of action, I'm not sure. I'm wondering if anyone here has heard of or used a new insulin called Levemir. It's a long-acting insulin that is apparently like Lantus, except I think it's a 12-hour insulin rather than 24-hour (but still with no peak like NPH). I'm going to ask to be switched to it at my next endocrinologist appointment, because Levemir is available in a pen here (Canada) and Lantus is not. Being able to measure my own long-acting insulin would make things so much easier (not to mention not having to carry pre-measured syringes around when I'm out late). Guest guest
Levemir is Novo Nordisk's equivalent of lantus. Dunno about duration, though; my info was that it was a direct equivalent. If you do switch to it, let us know how it goes. Guest guest
Hi Otis: I've heard of this product but didn't know the name of it before. I wonder how well it works.
