Guest guest
" I really think this is more for people who need to lose losts and lots of weight. " Not really, the weight is a side effect of this drug which happens because it suppresses appetite. Its primary effect is to mimic a hormone we all produce in our gut when we eat that prompts insulin production in direct proportion to the amount of glucose in the blood. It is the first of a related set of drugs soon to be available and I predict they will become the first line of treatment for type two diabetics in coming years. One of its greatest potential effects is to prompt the increase in beta cell mass and increased production of insulin lost in diabetes. Removing the factors which contribute to diabetes, weight and poor diet, will remain the first and best response to getting diabetes and these drugs will be more effective for doing so.
