Hello to all. My name is Annette and I am new to this group. It was

recommended to me from someone at Radiant Life. I called in a panic

after some recent test results. A brief history: I am an RN and

have always worked with heart patients. I have worked in cardiac

rehab and instructed patients for years on the American Heart Assoc.

diet. I lived this diet in my life almost to the letter, ie. low

amounts of red meat, very little butter or sat. fats of any kind

including cheese, only nf milk, etc. I also stayed away from white

flour and sugar and have eaten plenty of whole grains and legumes.

I have been able to maintain my weight and energy levels with this

diet. I did battle insomnia and a few other minor discomforts. I

began the weston Price diet about 15 months ago. I must say that my

insomnia is all but gone, but my chol. which has always been about

185 is now 222 (Help! The necessity of it being below 200 is tatooed

in my brain!) I am not as worried about that, though, as I am about

the bone density test results. About 6 months after starting the

diet it showed mild to mod risk for osteoporosis, and I just had it

retaken and it shows severe risk! I can't figure this out with the

amount of excellent sources of raw milk products I have been

consuming. (kefir, cheese, butter, etc.)I do not take any

supplements, but I do take cod liver oil and at times have also

taken the x-factor butter oil with it. Any suggestions? I know

what the doctors will recommend for both of these, and I don't want

anything to do with it.

I also want to throw out another question. Is this diet right for

everyone, and every body? Could it be possible that the amount of

fat that was in the native diet was perfect for those that were more

than just active almost every waking moment of their day? Could it

be too much fat for our more sedentary life-styles? I'm feeling a

bit paranoid now, so any tips will help.

Thank you!

Annette
