Guest guest
Hi All, I thought it would be nice if we could share some of our methods of stress reduction. The other day I was stressed out and then took my bg and it was high. I'd read people here saying that stress has this effect, but that was the first time I'd seen it actually show up in my bg readings (it hasn't been a month since I was diagnosed). I tend to be a worry-wort and I get all wound up and it shows up in tension headaches, so I've finally decided to really take action to try to reduce stress. So, I recently set up a " relaxation space " in my bedroom. I put some religious icons and candles there, an incense burner, a couple plants, a portable cd player, and a little table where I can do something creative like write or draw. My new mission is to take at least a half hour every evening to use this space and relax (a half hour I would usually spend in front of the TV). I did it last night and enjoyed it! Hi , I don't have much stress in my life, but I do one or more of the following things just for me almost every day. Walking - I love to walk the country roads, listening to the wind in the trees and the birds singing. Fixing a cup of hot tea and reading for about 30 minutes in the afternoon. I burn candles. I find that relaxing. At night, I enjoy a warm lavender bath. Eunice
