Guest guest
I've been out of town, but been reading some of the list. Re: What meds we are on for our RA, meds for negating side effects, and just what are 'normal' side effects vs. a side effect you need to be concerned about and know to look for. I've been with this RA thing for years now, and have talked to many people who fear the medications we take. The best way to lessen that fear is through knowledge. So.... If you need personalized information: Consult your Pharmacist! In California we have to sign that we were offered a consultation with a pharmacist every time we get a Rx filled. That includes re-fills, because by the time you have taken a Rx for a month or so, that's when you really might have a important question about how a certain med is working (or not). Pharmacists are usually up to date on how different meds from different types of specialists interact. This is also why is is important to fill all your Rx's at the same pharmacy. If you get your Enbrel, or other med, through a mail-order store, you want to let your local pharmacist know to add it to your list of active meds you are taking. FYI - Pharmacists, (not the pharmacy clerks), are Doctors of Pharmacology. They have a BA degree, a Master's degree, and finally they go to Pharmacy School for a Doctorate. It's hard to get into Pharmacy School, and they must continue their education after they get their degree to continue to work in the field. They have a vast amount of knowledge that you can tap into for information about your medications. And the information they share is FREE!! When was the last time you spoke to your doctor face to face for free?
