Guest guest
Katy, Don't get discouraged. You are doing great!!!! If you need recipies try looking under files (<--- over there in the margin) has posted a lot of great ones. It is true that you need to have a balance of different foods in order to lose and it may take you a little while to figure out what exactly that means for you. We have all been there and know that it can be discouraging, but we are here to support and encourage you. also has different tools under files that you may find useful. Keep Smiling! Guest guest
It's good your leader pointed out the protein - I need lots of protein myself. Have you been staying at the low end of your points? I need to eat at the top of my point range to lose weight. Water is also important for me - and not drinking too many sodas. Like others have mentioned... it's going to take a week or so for you to figure out what works. Hang in there though - there is lots of support here for you!! ~~ Hi everyone: I'm new at WW, having just joined 7/29 ... Guest guest
Hi Katy! Welcome to the group! I don't know where to start on this subject because I think we are walking in the same moccasins! I have been attending WW meetings since the last of Feb, 2001. It is now August and I have lost a total of 18 pounds. I have about 65 more pounds to go. I'll have good weeks and not so good weeks. But I am losing!! Yes, I'm in this for the long haul and it will not be cheap......until I consider the high cost of being overweight. Lower self esteem and all the health problems that can be associated with carrying extra pounds. WW is a way of life, not a diet. I know that if I never want to be fat again I have to do this for the rest of my life and I figure I'm worth the extra effort! You have definitely come to the right group for help and support. These folks are the best and have so much to offer us. There are several of us in this group that have 50+ pounds to lose and have jumped on the " Long Haul Train " . Care to join us? Hang in there! We can do this.....together! in NC oceana72@... on 08/07/2001 11:38:56 AM Please respond to wwliterside To: wwliterside cc: (bcc: -C /BRE/AGFA/US/BAYER) Subject: First weigh in disappointing Hi everyone: I'm new at WW, having just joined 7/29 ... Guest guest
Yes, hang in there. Look for the recipes...I have found them fabulous and so has my family!!! And my family is very picky! If I have to eat better.....so do they <hg> Actually, they aren't minding the lack of junk. The counter still has their oreos, chips etc (which are still unopened) and they are eating all my FF chips, ice cream and my skim milk!! LOL Kath Re: First weigh in disappointing > Katy, > Don't get discouraged. You are doing great!!!! Guest guest
> I am on that train!! > > Maureen Aren't we all? This is my 3rd round of trying WW...the first two (back in 1992 and 1994), I got discouraged because the weight didn't come off fast enough and started finding excuses to skip meetings and not follow the plan. This time with my 40th birthday now only a month away, I was determined not to be " FAT AT 40 " . While I only have about 30 pounds to lose total, it's taken me 2 months to lose 12 pounds. I finally understand that this is not a fast way to lose weight, but a healthy one! It's a lifestyle change. Don't give up...your body needs time to readjust to your new way of eating. I finally understand that this is not a fast way to lose weight, but a healthy one! It's a lifestyle change. This is exactly what I need to keep in mind when I get discouraged. Before, when I would "diet" then I would lose it fairly fast and immediately gain it back. With this, maybe I won't gain it back since it's not a diet and I'm not losing fast. Sharon I just need to keep telling myself this!
