Guest guest
I put adrenal insufficancy/daily HC user. I got an ugly braclet from the drug store, after I see my doc again if he thinks I'm going to have to take it a long time I'm going to get a nice one. I developed a large boil under my arm and felt very sick. I had a fever and went to the ER because it was a Sunday. I had always wondered how they'd react to the daily HC, so in my case, they asked me what I took for medications, and I just showed them the Cortef bottle (prescribed at 15 mgs. per day) and the doc said " Oh, patients with 's need a " push " when there is an infection. I didn't say anything and just played dumb..I knew if I said I didn't have 's there could be a problem. They went ahead and hooked me up and gave me a push of prednisolone. > > Anyway, this leads to my question of: what do most of you here have engraved on your med-alert bracelets, devices, etc.? I wasn't sure what to put so I just had " on daily cortisol " engraved on the back of the bracelet...BTW--Do most EMT's, ER people, etc. always check for med-alert bracelets when trauma victims are brought in? Do you guys keep anything in your car to alert any emergency people incase of an accident? I just want to make sure I have all bases covered. All I have right now is the med-alert bracelet. > > Thanks, > > > > >

Guest guest
They are SUPPOSED to look for medical alert jewelry. In my case I could well be in a diabetic coma and need glucose to save my life. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV My Ebay Jewelry Store (Closing after Xmas!!!) http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Guest guest
On mine I have: ADRENAL INSUFFICIENCY Stress dose with hydrocortisone in event of emergency I don't care if I don't OFFICIALLY have adrenal " insufficiency " ...if I am bad off enough that I can't speak for myself, I'm SURE I will need HC! > > Citrus Punch > > I never had a chance to report my first experience in the ER about 2 months ago. Guest guest
I have adrenal insufficiency on my medic alert bracelet. I too have not been 'officially' diagnosed by any dr. here where i live but a doctor in toronto did diagnose me when i was there for a vacation and saw him. I am intending to put his name on my medic alert card as doctor #2. I still don't have a primary physician that i would want listed on my card; they are all idiots here and don't listen to the patient. I am hoping that having a medic alert breacelt with adrenal insufficiency on it will help if i am unable to speak for myself. Depending on the situation, i intend to state that i have adrenal isnufficiency, not 's but as i said, it will depend on the situation at the time. MOst docs have never heard of adrenal insuffiency. Sadly. dawn > > > > Citrus Punch > > > > I never had a chance to report my first experience in the ER about 2 > months ago.
