So no gifts at Thanksgiving? Just as well if you have to splash out at

Christmas. Oh my - I am quite sure the suppliers of h.c do great business in the

winter months!!!

And January and the debt. Oh yes. I used to work (temporarily) for a

telephone tarot counselling line and January they were absolutely snowed

under.......

Yes, Mo, Thanksgiving is like a harvest festival, supposedly

originally celebrated by the Pilgrims & Native Americans.

It has become a festival of gluttony (not being critical, just honest

about my own participation! LOL!), accompanied by a family gathering

of dysfunctional members of the clan who probably don't even like one

another, who come together for Thanksgiving dinner.

It's a big football day, so the TV is usually blasting, providing

plenty of overblown auditory overstimulation, accompanied by kids

running wild & being loud (two of them are mine - again being

truthful, not critical!). More auditory stimulation. In most parts

of the US, it is already cold, so you can't shove the kids into the

backyard to be loud out there without being concerned about frostbite.

Fortunately, my immediate family aren't big drinkers, but many are,

and in that case, just multiple everything here by 20!

Dinner often starts with a phony prayer (maybe not phony for all, but

probably for many), and occasionally a round robin of people sharing

what they're thankful for. This part usually makes me cry, which is a

great start to the meal and my eventual indigestion. Last year, I

think that I said I was thankful for my drs. HA!

THIS YEAR I'M THANKFUL TO BE ALIVE DUE TO MY OWN PERSEVERENCE &

RESEARCHING ABILITY, ALONG WITH ALL THAT I LEARNED FROM NTH &

NTHAdrenals!!! I'M THANKFUL FOR ALL OF YOU!!!

Next, dinner begins, and things are usually still somewhat peaceful,

unless one of the kids spills their drink, which they usually do.

Typically, the following is served:

Turkey

Mashed potatoes

Gravy

Sweet potatoes

Stuffing

Corn

Green bean casserole

Cranberry sauce

Bread/rolls with butter

Salad

A veritable CARB-O-RAMA!

About 3/4 of the way through the meal is when things start to break

down, and usually it's because someone brings up POLITICS. Dinner is

not even over & indigestion starts to set in.

For example, the last time my family got together, the subject of Iraq

came up. I know we're not supposed to get political here, and that is

NOT my intent, but suffice it to say that there was a dead silence

when after my idiot BIL asked, " Do you know why we're not speaking

Farsi in this country? "

SILENCE. Then he asked again, " Are we speaking Farsi? " Someone

finally responded with NO. It took everything I had not to LAUGH at

the ridiculousness of the exchange.

Anyway, I rant...

So then...DESSERT, which consists of PIES!!! Wahoo!

Pumpkin pie - mostly served only on Turkey Day

Chocolate cream pie

Apple pie

Cherry pie

Following dessert, back to the football games, and I march off to

drink a lifetime supply of Mylanta, because of both the food & the family.

Yet, this year, I live closer to family and even though it's going to

be stressful, I ADORE my sister & am so glad to be able to spend the

holidays together.

Quite the dichotomy...which begs the question...

VAL, HOW SHOULD ONE STRESS DOSE FOR THANKSGIVING FESTIVITIES???

(I'm serious about the stress-dosing part!)

Warmly,

Oh, will you read my cards? I'm not feeling much direction these days!

I don't think you would get much accuracy from me in my present brain-dead

condition .

For instance I did a spread to see if i could assess how much Armour I

needed. Two and half grains looked good, so did three.

I thought I better do a cross-check on this and did a spread for a really

high dose and got the Temperance Card, balance, harmony etc.

Which would unlikely in the extreme.........

OK, that makes sense. Maybe I'll just see how it goes. I might be

surprised.

I was actually surprised how well I handled receiving my daughter's

bloodwork yesterday, thinking that it might show diabetes. I called

my sister & she said, at least you're not melting down. I didn't even

notice how well I was handling the stress, which was good.

Thanks, Val!!!
