Guest guest
Hi everyone, My new and wonderful doctor prescribed one grain of armour thyroid today and I am so happy!!! He answered all my questions and actually spoke to me as I did to the nurse at my old doctor's office. He is not a specialist like Dr. , but he is kind and willing to work with me. Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life on Armour! Now, I have a question. What is Isocort? Do I need it? What does it help? I have been so preoccupied with armour. Thanks for everything, S. Guest guest
Hooray!!!! You are now on the yellow brick road for wonderful new possibilities!! Now note something: one grain is a GREAT place to start!! But watch for hypo symptoms to return in a few weeks. If it's not enough, they will, and you'll know it's time to increase. Many docs leave patients on a small amount way too long. The reason your hypo symptoms might return: even if you are on much less than you will actually need, your pituitary gland senses that your body is getting extra hormones. SO it sends a message via the TSH for your own thyroid to reduce it's output. So now your already- reduced thyroid output decreases!! Isocort is an OTC adrenal support. Some folks do great on Armour without it. Others have problems and need it. It's an individual choice. I, for example, have never had symptoms that told me I needed it. But I am trying it to see if it helps my female hormonal issues. Kee pus informed.
