Guest guest
I am sure someone here will give you actual studies to site. In addition to that I would just go to your doctor and say " This is my goal. I have never felt better and I know what I am doing. I am going to follow the protocol of Dommisse, and Mercola (make up names if you have to LOL) and we are going to treat to the FT3. My goal is to get it to the upper part of the range for optimal health, not just getting by. Either you will help me or I will find a doc who will. I am willing to sign a release stating you warned me of any side effects if you are willing to write the Rx. And I would like a statement in my file stating that I requested XYZ treatment and you refused. " You sure look hashi's to me. Youa re doing the right thing. Treat until you feel good! Guest guest
OH a, your situation can be so common. Docs are TSH-idiots!! Once you begin treatment with Armour, the TSH is USELESS, and I am assuming this doc was looking at your TSH!! You, not your doc, are CORRECT that it's your free T3 that needs attention. And you want that to be in the upper part of the range, if not slightly above, NO MATTER WHERE it puts your TSH. Check out the article in our FILES section by Dommisse and see if that will help. There are other articles which may be useful, too. And the bottom line is to DITCH that doc if he continues to insist that you decrease to 2 grains!!!! What a bunch of CROCK!!! Check out the Top Doc lists in the LINKS section. Also, until you get a new doc (if necessary), you can get more Armour from smart-drugs.com, or generic Armour from Mexico to tide you over until you can more Armour. Also, with you having Hashi's, it is imperative to get that free T3 where it needs to be. Without it, it allows the Hashi's to have control!! Keep us informed, please! Guest guest
Hi - Thanks so much for the encouragement. I needed to hear that I am doing the right thing. Even my friends and loved ones look at me weird when I question the doctor's treatment and they worry that I am overdosing myself or something. Sometimes I just feel so alone in this whole thing and although I have all the info I need I seem to have a hard time expressing/and or explaning it when I'm put on the spot - even when I have my " folder of info " that I bring to every appointment, LOL. Your friend is very lucky to have you to advocate for her! Thanks again, a >You are doing the right thing. Treat until > you feel good! Guest guest
Don't doctors have that to their advantage that us poor thyrofogbrains can't think straight unless we are properly medicated. If I were a lazy doc I would want all my patients to be undertreated thyroid. What a simple job. Nobody ever argues. a, just move to AZ and we will get you all set up!! Guest guest
Does Dr. J take Cigna insurance? I'd drive there in a heartbeat if you told me that he will get my T3 up to the high end of the range as long as I am not showing any ill effects. I will delve more into the Lowe's web stuff and see if I can find some good evidence. Thanks for the tip. a > > Are you the Janie that moderates the Colorado thyroid support > group? > > Yup. Guest guest
I don't know what he takes, but they take my insurance. He also has a Nurse Practitioner, Judith, whom I see, that I have trained to IGNORE the TSH!! She laughs about it, but we have an agreement!! They are in north Colo. Springs---I highly recommend them. I also get a years worth of Armour at a time from her, and she is adament that I am the superior part of the treatment, not her!! Guest guest
That sounds wonderful. If my doc won't cooperate I'll give them a call and check on the insurance thing. Guest guest
Don't like the cold weather, huh? Well, phooey! Guess I'll start hinting to my husband how great AZ is! Maybe I'll use the cost- effectiveness approach and point out how much we could save on having a warm-weather wardrobe for both of us and our 1-yr old daughther - YEAR ROUND! hehe You've got lots of kiddos - you know what I mean! Buying all those sizes as they grow and for all the different seasons really adds up! But I'm thinking he will just look at me like I am crazy. Can't imagine why, tee-hee! a in CO (where the CO stands for COld!) > > > Don't doctors have that to their advantage that us poor > > thyrofogbrains can't > > > think straight unless we are properly medicated.
