Vacancy: HIV/AIDS regional coordinator - Asia

ActionAid is looking to appoint an HIV/AIDS Regional Coordinator

Asia to join its international team.

Based in India or Cambodia, the position is offered on a three-year

renewable contract on a salary of £24087 per annum.

Role profile:

• To be responsible for providing technical support to country teams

to strengthen the quality of HIV & AIDS programmes.

• To lead the delivery of thematic priorities in the region.

• To develop and maintain strategic inter-thematic linkages and

work.

• Lead on fundraising for HIV & AIDS thematic regional work.

• Manage inter-country HIV & AIDS documentation and shared learning

and lead on building regional coalitions for advocacy.

Candidate profile.

• The ideal candidate will have proven experience in providing

technical and mentoring support to diverse country teams in

HIV & AIDS programming and advocacy in a multi-cultural context.

• Knowledge of contemporary issues and drivers of the epidemic in

the sub-region is important as is the application of relevant

innovative methodology aimed at strengthening communities to respond

and claim their rights to HIV & AIDS prevention, treatment, care and

support.

• The ability to provide strategic leadership in regional planning

and delivery of programmes is an imperative.

• A clear understanding of the key policy issues and debates on

HIV/AIDS within the region.

• Sound knowledge of policy processes relevant to HIV/AIDS.

• Expertise in alliance building and networking in the Asia region.

• Proven expertise in resource mobilsation and influencing of donors

and other multilateral institutions.

• Excellent research, analytical and writing skills.
