I'd probably mention it to your doctor, Michele. Better safe than

sorry. Can't hurt, either. :-?

stomach and I am continually burping. I am hungry but I am afraid

Michele, that sounds really painful. I think going to the doctor is

a REALLY good idea. It sounds a little bit like acid reflux (the

heart attack part), but a doctor can tell you for sure.

Also, do you remember trying any new foods lately? Some

artificially sweetened candy or artificial fat substitutes can cause

extreme bloating. Bloating also can be the sign of an allergy, too.

I hope you feel better soon.

I am doing better today. I am not sure if it was just the combination of the foods I ate or if there was something else going on in my stomach. But for now it has gotten less. I have no insurance right now and with Christmas right around the corner I can't afford to go for little things. But I will definitely go if it keeps being that painful. Thanks Amy, I do feel much better. I am not sure what it was but I thought it started when I at some lettuce which I purchased from the grocery store. It was a bag of the shredded lettuce to use for tacos or salads. I thought it might have been something they washed the lettuce with which caused it. But then Monday night I ate some fried foods from Dairy Queen. I think it might have been the grease. It had been a while since I ate anything like that. I have been diagnosed as having acid reflux but it had never felt like this before. But it is gone for the most part so hopefully it will stay away and I will avoid that greasy stuff. By the way...I am still using that silly scale but I am now down 23. I can't believe it. I am hoping this keeps going but I will know rationally if it quits it will continue later

I was pleasently surprised when I went to a local Dr that he only charged me $45 for the visit and then gave me some sample to boot, I have no insurance either. Call around and see what some fees are, usually the out of pocket fees are less then what Dr charges insurance co.

I recently had the pain that you are talking about & found out that I

do have acid reflux & am currently on Nexium. My dr performed

several tests on me which were quite expensive (thank goodness for

insurance). One of the tests freaked me out a bit, but I found a lot

of helpful information on medicinenet.com. You might want to check

out the information on GERD becuase it is sounding like that may be

what you are experiencing. Fried foods, chocolate, tomatoes as well

as many other foods can be triggers.

Thanks for the heads up. I had went to the doctor SEVERAL years ago because I thought I was having a heart attack. They diagnosed it as acid reflux and gave me some medicine to take for it. I can't remember what it was. They advised me to take it if I had any more symptoms and then finally it just gradually went away. The feeling I have been having the last week are very different from what I had before. This feels like there is a huge bubble of air in my stomach and when I try to burp it gets "stuck" so to speak and causes the excruciating pain in my chest. I have been better the last day or two so maybe it was the fried foods.
