#1 - why didn't God make our stomachs to not stretch? This would solve all the problems!! The stomach could grow with age-appropriate size and when our bodies stopped growing, our stomachs would too. And if a woman got pregnant, her stomach could temporarily expand to hold whatever extra the baby needed. And as we aged, our stomachs could shrink depending on how much our metabolism was slowing down. We could only hold the amount of food that we actually needed...it would be impossible to overeat. No more overweight, no more obesity and the health problems and early death that come with that. Wouldn't that be cool?

The things I've come up with are:

A. God wants us to practice self-control.

B. Sometimes our stomachs need to be able to hold more LIQUID as in the case of working out in the hot Texas (or wherever) sun and needing to drink extra fluids to prevent dehydration.

#2 - I think no matter how long I maintain at my goal weight, I'm always going to be plagued by thoughts of "since you overate yesterday, you are destined to overeat today and gain all the weight back and be fat for the rest of your life...see, this just proves that you can't do it!"

I did eat beyond 5 for lunch and for supper and I know it...and I knew it at the time! But that doesn't mean that I'll do that today...

I 'll just go back to eating according to the hunger circle, maybe even go lighter today, and everything will be fine. So where does that voice of condemnation and hopelessness come from???

Any thoughts??? Anybody else overeat yesterday??
