WELCOME JODY!

I am Amy, 23 and have either Uterus Didelpus(UD) or Septate Uterus

(SU). I am in the process of scheduling a Laproscopy to tell which I

have. I have 2 cervices as well as a vaginal septum!! My DH and I are

not ttc yet but will in about a year or so. I am trying to get all of

my ducks in a row as much as possible before we are ready!!

I am so glad you found this group!! They are wonderful! You will

learn so much from them! Especially Beth, she seems to know

everything!!

Have you had your DH's count tested?? That might give you some info,

Someone gave me advice to go ahead and do that so that I could rule

that out later when we are ttc (if we have problems).

I hope everything works out and you are pg soon!!

Amy

Welcome Jody! I don't know if this helps or not, but we tried for 10

months before finally conceiving (just as we were about to begin an

IUI cycle). I'm impatient! We went through fertility workups early -

after trying for 8 months and that's when I found out about my BU.

Your not considered infertile until after trying for a year - hang in

there, I know it's hard and discouraging!

I have 21 nieces and nephew - so I know how it feels to be around so

many kids and want them so badly.

Here's a good response when people ask about having kids (it's NONE

of their business and a very rude question). A neighbor who I like

said " You have the house, the husband, so when are you having kids? "

My response " These things don't always happen as quickly as we'd

like. " It was a polite response, but shut her up. Her husband's jaw

almost hit the floor!

Good luck to you!

Tara

Welcome Jody!

This is a great group. You will find a lot of support and information here.

I just wanted you to know that sometimes it takes awhile to get pregnant even

when women don't have any uterine challenges. I know you want to be pregnant

right now, but give your body a chance to readjust to being off of birth

control pills; it has to learn to manufacture the hormones to ovulate and

sustain a pregnancy. Are you tracking your cycle by charting your

temperature? It is really important to time everything around ovulation and

the more aware you are of your cycle, the better the chances of conceiving.

Have you asked your dr. how long you should ttc before coming back for

fertility evaluations?

It's hard when you want to have kids and all of your friends are insensitive

to that. I'm 34 and my husband is 42 - we've been together for 11 years, so

we have had our share of nosey friends! I know they mean well - they probably

enjoy being a parent so much that they want the same blessing for you. But

don't get discouraged. There are a lot of miraculous stories here to inspire

you.

I'm curious - how was your uterus diagnosed?

Glad you found us,

Sara

Welcome Cindi-

DOn't look at the big picture and try to do everything at once. Start with one concept of ND( or IE whatever you want to call it) and go from there. Journaling my fears and irrational thoughts has also helped tremendously for me!

Good luck!

Kate

Hello!

My name is Cindi. I joined this group a couple of days ago and have enjoyed reading your posts.

I'm a 53 year old Mom. I no longer work out of the home, but my husband and I own a business, so I'm certainly kept busy with paperwork. I also homeschool our teenage son.

I have struggled with losing weight since my late 20's. Then, it was easy…..oops, I'm twenty pounds over, I would eat a bit less, and I would go right back where I was. I usually weighed 125 pounds and am 5'9" tall.

I became a Mom when I was 41 years old. We adopted…no excuses for baby fat! We had some to be expected stresses with adopting an older child from a different country….and I turned to food for comfort. I was fortunate to work at a surgery center and a nutritionist there helped me lose my unwanted pounds. I had settled into motherhood, marriage was good, I liked my job and lived a pretty "balanced" life. Then, DH and I decided to move to Florida

.. He hated his job and was ready for a fresh start someplace else. Florida

has been very difficult. I was perimenopausal when we moved…and entered menopause about a year after we moved. I turned to my old friend food…and now weigh 75 pounds from my goal weight of 145 pounds.

I say I want to lose weight. I know I need to lose weight. I can't stand how I look and I can't stand how I feel. This summer the heat is really getting to me and I know being my fattest ever isn't helping. I know I don't ever want to diet again. I need to lose weight by making "lifestyle" changes. I have read WD, and am currently reading one of the earlier Thin Within books and Seven Secrets of Slim People. As much as I know all of these things, I am not making any real significant changes, including a baby step towards better health. Does anyone have any ideas how to "kick start" your motivation?

Thanks!

Cindi

Thanks for the welcome Jenn. I am already

a member of the Thin Within Support Group, but thanks for letting me

know. I joined a couple of days before joining here. I was a

member several years ago when I thought I would do Thin Within and then

chickened out. It was the silliest thought that stopped me. I kept

telling myself if I went to a restaurant with a buffet it would be a waste of money

since I would only be able to eat a little bit. Well, not any more.

I’ve decided that diets are crazy and that intuitive eating makes so much

sense. And the naturally thin person is right in front of me.

DH is so thin. So I have the perfect role model. Well, I’ll

quit rambling now.

Cool! Well, glad you've joined us over here, too. :o)

And, yes, TW and IE are *very* similar. The only thing I found was that IE is a little more practical... it's better at teaching you how to put the principles into practice, while TW focuses more on the *why*, or the internal issues of overeating. And, obviously, TW deals with the spiritual side of things. I know I, for one, couldn't do this without God. :-?
