Guest guest
Winnie, I take Baclophen for spasticity. It works for me, the first time I took it I was impressed with the difference it made. It's a nice drug. Amy
Guest guest
I went to my nerologist yesterday. Before I go back on Beta, he wants me to have blood work done to check out my liver, to make sure everything is okay there. I should be back on the Beta within 2 weeks. I told him I am experiencing spasticity in my legs, and he prescribed Baclofen. He also prescribed Lexapro to help with anxiety that I am experiencing. (I blame this on being the mother of an 18 1/2 year old - - lol) Anyway, is anyone else on Baclofen? He assured me that it will help with the spasticity, and relax me, but I am a little hyper due to the fact that I am also taking Lexapro. I am not a real good drug user. I try to avoid it as much as possible. I trust my neuro, but...as I said I am nervous about drugs. Just want a little reassurance from people who have taken or are taking it. Thanks, in advance for the input. winnie
Guest guest
Winnie, is right, I forgot to mention the drowsiness but I get that too. I just put it aside because I get that from the other drugs I take anyway! lol Amy
Guest guest
I started on Baclofen in January. What dose does your doc want you on? I have gone up and down on on my dose. (I'm always experimenting on my own to see what works--instead of following the doctor's advice/orders It does help but it doesn't take care of all the spasticity for me. It has made a huge difference though. Is your spasticity all day or worse at night? Anyway, I'm on 80 mg. a day. I take 60 mgs. of that at bedtime because my spasticity is worse at night. hugs))) Sharon Sharon (MSersLife Group Owner/Creator) Kind words may be short... but their echoes are endless.... Guest guest
Hi Sharon: My spasticity is worse at night. Sometimes I have it at different times of day, but it seems to be worse when I am tired. He has me on 10mg. He told me to take it at night because of the drowsiness. My spasticity does keep me up at night at times, then I am tired all the next day. Isn't MS just a wonderful thing??? Guest guest
Hi - I have had restless legs for years, but my neuro says what I am having now are MS spasms as they go all the way to my head. I am taking Baclofen 10 mg and Klonopin 1 mg three times a day. These have made me feel immeasurably better. Hope you feel better soon, too.Winnie wrote: Hi Sharon: My spasticity is worse at night. Guest guest
I was started on Baclofen last week when I had spasms so bad and the Klonopen which I usually take didn't help. I am having a lot of trouble seeing so I cannot write long, but the BAclofen doesn't seen to hve any side effects except sleepiness. It makes me really tired and I sleep good, not like being druged or anything with a handover when I wake up. It also heolps with the anxiety. I take it three times a day and then at bedtime. I usually have terrible side effects with medicines, so I try not to take new thnigs I do see things or people sometimes, but have done that since I first got sick. It is a side effect of Parkinsons and they think I may have it also. Good luck with the Baclofen. I think it will really hlep you feel better.
