Guest guest
Hi , I agree with Imogene here. The very second you are able I would move your mom out of there. Its a shame this place is being run like this but to some its just a business and the owners want to turn a profit. I hope things improve there for those residents. Courage Re: Update on my Mom in N.H. Hi Dear , I am so sorry to read your letter. Don WAS the terror in four nursing homes, and was kicked out of all of them, so I can't give you an answer. But, I sure would find another place, as you said. It is so sad when our LO have to suffer with a bad disease and then suffer under the conditions your mother is in. I am so very sorry. Love you dear, Imogene > > Hi All, > > Friday, my Mom seemed to be doing good, she had a normal conversation with me, but then came the " people " that live in her mind. But all in all everything was good. I left feeling a little better. > > Yesterday, another story, back to her scary thoughts. LBD is a rollercoaster ride for them, it is so scary for them, and sad for us. > > My daughter and 2 others went to visit her, and she said someone was going to kill her in there, they were all after her. They suggested for her to go to the dining room to eat, no, never she said, outside, no. They brought her Kentucky Fried chicken, she loved it, they have her on mechanical diet, but her swallowing is not bad as far as I can see. She hates the food and that thickening agent is so thick she won't drink. She enjoyed the coke they brought her. > > I went up for supper time, this place stinks so bad I want to throw up the min. I get in there with so much urine/poop smell. Most of the residents here are in bad bad shape mentally. There was one man down the hall from her, and my granddaughter was with me, and every word out of his mouth was so much cursing, I had to hold her ears. It was unbelievable. No one was seeing about him and he lie in bed sreaming out horrible vulgar words. She refused to go to the dining room, telling me people all over that place were going to kill her. She has gone to the dining room only a couple of times, but won't any more. She had a salad, beef macaroni sauce, roll, gross cheesecake, and thickened ingredients for her drinks, she ate 2 bites of her macaroni and two bites of her bread, that was it. She is going to get sick from this bad food. > > We had to leave and there she was in that room terrified. Her roommate told me she was deaf, but I can understand her speech perfectly, and she looks at her TV and stares out into space. Its a very sad place this place. The other N.H. rehab she was in 6 months ago was beautiful, clean, no smell whatsoever, the envirnoment was so much much better. I don't know if this would make a difference in her mental health or not to have a cleaner, bigger place or not. But once she gets her medicaid approved, I am moving her to a cleaner, better environment place in the months to come. One that does have a wander guard/or alzheimers unit. She does not wander in here anymore, she lies in bed terrified. > > Any others that have had this experience? > > Thanks and Happy Mother's Day! > >
