We share the same " birthday " week. i had my RNY with Dr. Thayer on 12/30/99. Glad to hear things are going well. We've had great news, ('s transplant date, April home from the hospital and 's & Pierre's evaluations to name just a few) some laughs, many fears, several disagreements, a couple of hurt feelings, discussions on sex, some accusations, apologies, drugs, death, war and shoot...we even lost a book deal last week! (sorry I couldn't resist!) I would like to take the time to Welcome our newest members, if I miss anyone, I apologize in advance. Welcome to: Timi, Gordon, Lori, Marko, Penny, Tony, Darren, Blenkilells, Jeff, , Vintagecrazy, Cmiller, Carla, Mark, Readymagic, Thom, Ted, Denie, Sua, , and Shirabieblein! We arrived at this site, because of the same thing, IgAN and I can assure all of you of several things, sometimes you will laugh, sometimes you will cry, sometimes you will agree, sometimes you will disagree, sometimes you may love us, sometimes you may hate us, but I can guarantee that you will get EDUCATED, COMFORTED, ENCOURAGED and SUPPORTED when you need it here. It is just that I have a nephew and another member has a cousin so with this war it seems more personal! I honestly believe it is a most honorable thing to serve one's country. That certainly puts temps in perspective doesn't it. My dad lives 4 hours north where it hits 30 below 0 every winter! Now he is downright crazy! I don't know where you live but I would do anything to be out there today. It must be close to 80 degrees here. (Ohio, USA) I'm glad that she is home and hopefully things will be able to settle down for your family. Be strong as the parent and encourage her to live as normally as she can considering her health problems. I think also that she had a birthday, I thought that she was 9 then I saw that you said something about her being 10. If that is the case, tell her Happy Birthday from us and she only has 90 more to go to reach 100! (Idaho) My son was on his way to Boise with his school this morning, the roads were solid ice. They went less than 20 miles when the van rolled, I spent the morning at the hospital and everyone is OK just bruised and scratched, one broken bone on what of the other students. Don't tell me that you were one of those " free thinking, spirited people " that live in the Yellow Springs area? I love to go to the shops in Y Springs, the people are kind of a throw back from the 60's and they're very laid back and very creative, which I love.
