I was referred to them by the on-call GI at the hospital I was admitted to

(the second time). Whether you need a referral depends on your insurance.

Mayo will treat anyone, regardless of insurance (sure changes the

out-of-pocket charge though!).

I also heard Ala. has a good liver clinic . But I

don't know how often they do stent placement? I

would want a clinic who does ERCP's all the time.
