Guest guest
Hi , I found the website for the journal you mentioned, and found the article, but was unable to read it without a subscription. Do you have access or any way to post the article? I am coming off Zyprexa, so I would really be interested in reading this. Thanks, Creel wrote: Dear Matt, Here is a citation for those difficult-to-convince parents not to mention the doctor whose brain is hard-wired to the drug company. Guest guest
Thanks . They want $25 for one article so I will pass. I did a general internet search on Olanzapine withdrawal just to see what would happen. Some Dr. on Bipolar World actually told someone there was no documented withdrawal from this drug. And all the other references were for schizophrenics and said their psychosis returned when they were stopped abruptly. No duh! There is no reason why I need documented evidence of the effects of withdrawal. I have my own experience and it was not pretty. I guess I have been trying to guage how much to tell my psychiatrist. I had hoped to be off by now, but went a little too fast and had to back up. I am going to need to stay on 1/4 pill for a few weeks, and then disolve in liquid. I bought a suitable container for doing that today. I am learning that the end of the taper is harder than the beginning. I am still seeing the Dr. because he is giving me Gabitril samples for free. Otherwise it costs $45 per month. I have no plans to taper the Gabitril until I am done with the Zyprexa. Anyway, if there is no information in my Doctor's world documenting what I am going through, then there is no point in going into any detail. There is no way I will be able to convince him of anything. He is convinced I will fail and need to be on drugs the rest of my life. In fact, I have been more emotionally stable since I started coming off the Zyprexa than at any other time in the past 10 years. Is that because of the fish oil, or am I actually OKAY underneath it all? I'm taking a cooking tablespoon per day (as opposed to a silverware tablespoon). I am even getting used to the insomnia. I still get about five hours per night of sleep, and my body is doing okay with that. I'm actually not tired, which I can hardly believe. And I'm dealing with the nausea. I've found foods I can eat. Mostly chicken and cottage cheese. Cucumbers. Corn tortillas. Really these symptoms are not bad. Nowhere near as bad as when I tried cold turkey. Thanks for being there. This group is a lifeline. __________________________________________________
