Guest guest
You definitely have my good thoughts and prayers. I also hope you will be able to sit reasonably comfortably for your trip back. Be sure to take your donut. Mine helped me a lot (but I still had to sit on one hip for a while) after my surgery. And that little smiley face was just so sweet. How in the world did you find it. Guest guest
Ora, Thank you for your kindness I will have to pick up a donut cusion in Wisconsin ( I leave in 5 min.) I don't have one yet. I am glad you mentioned one though, because I had been thinking about getting one, but I forgot during all the last min. planning. You may have mentioned it already, but how did your surgery work out? Was there improvement afterwards? I really hope this surgery is successfull. About the , I use hotmail and the smily icons are just there for me to click on if I use rich text format. Rich text is just a box I can click on when I send mail. Guest guest
~ Relax! You are almost half-way through all this "crap." Don't try to think about anything stressful, and don't think negatively. You will make it through this, and the trip is just a small part of it! Good luck, and warm thoughts to you!!!!! ~mindy~

Guest guest
My surgery was not the same as yours - it was for cystocele, rectocele and vaginal reconstruction. But I definitely needed my donut cushion. Healing took about six weeks. Guest guest
Hey Ora, I'm back from Wisconsin. Hopefully Hotmail will send everyone my update. I got a donut cusion right away, but unfortunatly it didnt help. The hole was too small (at least for the type of surgery I had). I was extreamly frustrated, it was impossible to sit! AND the doctor thinks I will have trouble doing that for 5 weeks. Well I had to come up with something because my back just couldnt put up with all that lying down. The idea occured to me while I was on the toilet(its ok to laugh). I realized I had no problem sitting on a toilet seat. So I sent my husband out to the closest hardware store and had him get one of those toilet sets with the soft foam in the seat. I removed the seat from the cover and it works awsome! Of course it works better on a firm serface then on a squishy chair. Just thought I would share. I think it worked better because there is a much larger hole in the center.
