Hi Jeff,

I was actually planning to look up the date and suggest it. Unfortunately,

I didn't find anything other than a year.

To be fair, we shouldn't have the day represent anything significant to any

one organization, such as the founding day of EDS Today, EDNF, CEDA, UK EDS,

or any other group. To have the date be someone's birth or death

anniversary would be unfair to all the others who have died from EDS. We

would all like the day to remember someone special. EDS Today launched on

April 15 in honor of April Leaman's birthday, for example. We should also

avoid major holidays.

And does it have to be one date? What about a week or a month?

Other awareness months include:

January: Glaucoma, Thyroid

March: Colorectal Cancer, Obesity, Developmental Disabilities, Brain

Awareness

April: Autism, Cancer, Sexual Assault, Alcoholism, Sexually Transmitted

Diseases

May: Motorcycle Safety, Skin Cancer, May 7-13 Suicide Awareness Week, May

12 Chronic Fatique Syndrome and Fibromyalgia

June: Stroke

September: Gynecological Awareness, Food Safety

October: AIDS, Breast Cancer, Disability, Disability Employment, Domestic

Violence, Vegetarians, Spina Bifida

November: Adoption, Native Americans, Assistive Technology

December: Drunk Driving

February, July and August don't seem to be cluttered up with other causes

yet. I'm sure there are others there, but not as big as the ones listed

above. What about doing something for February next year? That gives us

some time to get things rolling and spread the word.
