I had those same symptoms when I was on Wellbutrin XL.

I kept thinking I was having a stroke. The same

thing happened when I went off of them. I am 27 too.

I think you will be fine and it is normal. I was

shaking, had tingling and numbness in my left arm and

was so confused and forgetful. But I feel better now.

Maybe you cut the dosage too quickly? I am sure Kim

or will have some good advice. Best to you.

Hi ,

We could better address your concerns if we had your whole history in one place. I've looked at your previous posts but can't piece together a while picture.

Please tell us when you started the drugs, why, which drugs you've taken and for how long, and describe your weaning procedure with the last drugs you took. Also, please give us a four-day food diary (it can be from the past four days), and tell us what supplements you are taking.

mentioned in a previous exchange that you have suffered a chemical injury. The symptoms you describe fit in with that.

Going to doctors won't help. Going on Zoloft won't help either, unless you've recently discontinued Zoloft too quickly. The ony way to recover from this kind of injury is to follow 's advice to the letter.

Please fill us in on your whole history, with all the info I requested above, and we can give you a more useful answer.

Also, please hit " enter " every few lines to break up your posts. It is very hard to read a block of text like that and sort out the individual symptoms.

Help is available. If you get actively involved with the process here, it can make a very big difference.

Regards,

Kim

Yes, I had the symptoms you described when tapering

off Ativan. What drug are you withdrawing from? I had

numbness and tingling in my right arm and also thought

I'd had a stroke - the symptoms eventually went away

(although now I have a whole new set - haha). But hope

that helps. I tapered really fast though, so if you

are doing that as well, you should probably

reconsider.

This is withdrawal. Stop going to the doctor. They have two options for

you -- drugs or hospital and drugs. Stop trying to get something from them

they don't have to give.

C

need some reassurance

I need a little reassurance I have been tired for a couple months and just

recently I have been confused and for about two days I have been numb on one

side from my right arm down to my feet and tingling in other spots. and my

month seems to be watering a little more and all this weirdness started when

I cam off my meds but I would only get a system here and there every now and

again and it would go away. But I feel like my body is shaking on the inside

really bad and my teeth seem to be chattering. I am afraid something is

really wrong with me and I have been to the doctors and they say I am fine.

But I have not been for this but the symptoms before this and they say it is

my nerves. and they wanna give me zoloft or something in that class. I am 27

and I am so afraid I mean is all this withdrawal I mean I hope it is.. But I

am wondering if I may have had a stroke a small one because I am under a

great deal of stress and I just don't know what to do. My question is this

withdrawal if so I need some reassurance. I am fighting so hard not to go

back on these pills but all this stuff that is happening is making me so

afraid. My mom has ALS but the docs said it was the kind that did not run in

families cause we couldn't find a trace of it in our line. So I mean if this

is withdrawal this will get better right..? I am trying to relax as much as

I can.. But it is so hard and if I keep going back to the doctors I am going

to get put in the hospital. Can anyone help me to understand this anymore?

I am sorry to be such a bother... But I just don't know where to turn or if

anyone else has had any of my symptoms.

Lithum 3 times a day I am not sure how much but they were little pink caps. but I was on

the liquid for a while cause I was afraid to take pills. 4 years and cam off it in like a week

because I got a new doc that said I did not need the meds and to stop taking them and I got

really sick after listening her but I trusted my doctors and thought they would not hurt

me. and I was like 17 and ended up in a hospital where I was put on the depakote and paxil

and felt better for a while.

I also was taking mellarill while on the lithium. I don't know how much but it was a low dose I

took once a day and orange or red pill.

Depakote for 10 years 250mg 3 times a day Tapered over 3 months as suggested by a

doctor. at 250mg drops and at that time I did not know how to go lower and I was taking

delayed release pills.

Paxil 10 years the same time I was taking the depakote. 10 mg 1 time a day.

The way I got put on these drugs is that I was misdianoised with Bipolar disorder. I took

Bipolar meds by doctors orders for about 14 years. I followed a doctors advice when getting

off the depakote and paxil but I think I got off the depakote to fast but I did not know no better

till it was far too late. I had not became a member of this group until I was withdrawaling for

paxil. Well I have been feeling bad ever since I got off the paxil. I came off the paxil at 2.5 mg

drops at a time to which I know was far to fast so I have learned and it is been to long since I

been off of it to go backl on it cause it has been almost 7 months. So I have to try to repair

the damage I have done the best way I can. The way I have been feeling lately has got me

afraid that I have got ALS or some type of motor neron disorder. I know I don't but I am so

afraid. See my mom has got ALS. On my Birthday this year on June 28th I was feeling tired

but I went out and then I cam home and cried for hours and my head started hurting and it

hurt for days. Then my right side went numb and tingleing and I could feel my nerves and

muscles twitching all over. Then my muscle got all week and all this as happened over the

past week. Now my left arm is weak and I am having trouble typeing this email now. I went to

a doctor that believes in holistic herbal medicine. I told him that I have been feeling tired,

numb and tingling and I have been confused my speech seems different and my hands are

weak and I drop stuff and sometime they are cold or my palms sweat or the bottoms of my

feet sweat and that is not normal for me. I I just seem to twitch all over. I feel confused and I

wanna cry and

can't. My thinking seems delayed and my movements as well. Well the doctor checked me

out and said I am severally minerial defficent and he put me on a trace mineral. I was to take

50 drops a day and come back and see him in a week. I noticed after I took only 10 drops

the twitching seem to get better almost stop. It has the following in it..

Magnesium: 250mg

Chloride:680mg

Sulfate:75mg

Potassium:5mg

Sodium:4.5 mg

Lithium:1.0

Now I had another herbal doctor tell me to take the following Calcium Citrate and take it

when I take the drops as well. Should I do this? and that vitamin has

Calcium: 600mg

magnesium : 300mg

zinc: 15mg

copper 1mg

manganese 5mg

vitamin D: 100 IU

I seem to be weak in my legs and I am weak in my arms and I can't think very well and I am

just afraid. I know I don't eat well but I just don't feel like eating and when I do eat I am afraid

to eat. But I know all this is happening to fast and all at once to be what my mom has and

she has ALS. And it all started when I came off my meds. But it slowly went from confusion

to emotional problems and then now this weakness. I really need to know what I can take at

the same time so that I don't get sick. I am afraid of pills and am a worrier so it takes me a

while to get on track.

I was taking a multi vitamin but I felt kinda sick and stopped it and I was taking fish oil and I

felt so relaxed it made me afraid. I know I am a mess and I am sorry.. But I don't know who

else to turn too.

How does one heal from the chemical damage to where they can live again I

mean I hurt all over or I am weak and tired.

You are right the doctor can't help me. I have been to the ER so much they are getting mean

with me now. I just wanna feel better and if I could just feel a little better ever few days it does

not have to be a lot just enough to where I can tell I am getting better I would be so very

happy.

I am sorry I am trying but I forget so much anymore. I mean I been seeing little things for

months and they are getting worse. I mean yesterday I left my house after cooking dinner

and left the burner on my stove on form like 2pm till my roommates got home at 9pm I could

have burned my home down. and I did not even remember doing it.My roommates told me all

about it. I don't know how to cope with this ... What can I start taking that will make the

biggest differnce in making me feel better. I am on a fixed income so I don't have a

great deal of money to spend. I wanna start a pace that won't scare me.. I know I am

a mess and I am sorry. But I am thankful for all your help..

I am going to send my food diary to you in my next post.. I hope that is okay..

Dear ,

You asked the most important thing you can do to feel better. The

single most important thing you can do to give your body what it

needs to heal, is to eat properly. If you can eat poorly, you can

eat properly. Fear has nothing to do with it. You insist on

hanging on to this even though I gave you a way to process through

it. Actually, when I did that, you stopped posting.

Don't go to numerous doctors. You'll only harm yourself that ay.

you shoulfd not take the calcium complex the herbal doc recommended.

The mineral product you are taking has those major minerals in it

but also contains a full complement of trace minerals. This is what

made the difference unless you hadn't been taking magnesium before.

If this was true (not taking mag previously), this would bring us to

the following question -- why?

, you need to really look at your commitment level to this.

It's not there yet. Yes, you feel terrible and every once in a

while and want it to change, but you've been here long enough where

your diet and supplements should already be in place. This is

usually an indication of people still not accepting that in order to

get better, they have to take action -- a lot of action. You've

been here since Nov. 19, 2005. Make up your mind, . Are you in

it, or not? If you are, then go to our files and read Eating for

Recovery, Basic Healing Protocol, and Stimulation and Nervous System

Overload. Then, take some action. Yuo've wasted seven and a half

months here so far.
