Maybe I need to be more determined with my searches. There must be SOMETHING good here that I can take, LOL.Many thanks,. Talk is cheap. Use Yahoo! Messenger to make PC-to-Phone calls. Great rates starting at 1¢/min.

Guest guest
Thanks for reminding me of that link . Yes they do have GOL products. I've ordered the standard multi. Can't find any product details on the site, but I found them on other sites, and this looks to be a lot better than what I've been taking. Thanks for your help,
Guest guest
My Garden of Life multi came today. It's something like 126 caps for £26 -- pricey, but worth it if it helps. When I read the label on the back, though, it says to take 9 a day -- whoa! I would have thought it would be just one, especially with some of the amounts of things in it. If I took that many I'd be paying £50 per month for this. That's insane. Someone must be making a bundle. Can anyone tell me if I'm OK to take one a day of these, or if I should keep searching? What essentials does a good multi need? That is, presuming Body Toddy remains elusive here? Thanks, .

One is not going to cut it. Did you ever tell the doctor you were going to take one-ninth of what was prescribed? These are FOOD-BASED NUTRIENTS of which you are vastly depleted. ::::::::throwing clumps of hair on floor::::::::: <With regained composure> When a person begins taking a high quality multivitamin formula they should begin at 1/3 of the dose and work up to the full dose. Then, one should find the maintenance dose at which one feels best. Unless one cannot pay the electric bill if one takes a certain amount, money should not enter into the decision of what a good maintenance dose is. For the majority of people this will be six to nine a day. In the beginning, it is usually necessary to maintain at the recommended dose of 9 for about a year. Nutrients are the fuel used by the body function well and repair damage. If your roof blew off, you would need at least some new material to replace it. The vitamins are providing the new material your body needs to compensate for what has been taken from it over the years. I can't imagine what the health of those who fall under EU supplement guidelines will look like in 20 years. It has the potential of exceeding the heart disease, diabetes, cancer, etc. statistics we now have in the U.S. Regards, Kojak

Guest guest
LOL OK Kojak I can see you feel strongly about this and I am taking that on board. I also believe, like you, that health is of paramount importance, and if something is vital then you should make it a priority. I hate to whinge but this is just really going to make a big hole in my pocket. We've been on one income for 4 years now, have seen our savings dwindle as we've paid various bills, and it's starting to become quite a stress. If I'm going to add £50 a month on top of it then I'm going to have to do something like quit my gym membership. We already do not buy things unless we really need them, we don't buy clothes or shoes til they're falling apart -- I don't want to get into sorry-for-myself stuff but I have a big problem with using a supplement that costs so much. I'm going to have to think about this and see if I can come up with some ideas. I don't think this is in the realm of the possible for us. Maybe that means my healing is going to be compromised, but I would do the best I can with what I eat and the other supplements I take. If anyone from the UK is reading this, can I ask what you take? .

After all we have been through, after the myriad of posts, after the amount of time people put into this, you now say this. If you give up some of the other useless ones you've been taking (those with so little of the substance that they are pretty much useless) you can probably afford the 42.29, not 50, it costs to get a bottle a month. <<> If anyone from the UK is reading this, can I ask what you take? >> ** Magical thinking. When the answer doesn't suit people, they engage in magical thinking. This is precisely why most people end up on antidepressants. They think because the answer is unpleasant or not ideal that there must be a " better " answer out there. However, their definition of " better " is not the traditional definition. In this case, " Better " means " more pleasing to the individual " . People in the UK recover quite poorly because of the limitations in supplements available to them. Is this what you're looking for? I know what works. This doesn't change because someone finds it unpalatable. If you choose not to do this you will find that the answers you receive here to most of your posts about physical and mental recovery will be answered this way -- GOL Living Multi. Until the foundation is in place, it has to be assumed that most problems stem from that.
Guest guest
OK, plan: Start taking the GOL, I have a new bottle. Husband tries to stop smoking. If that doesn't work, quit my gym membership, get some weights to lift at home and walk/jog locally, whatever I feel I can manage. My husband is actually the one telling me I can't do things by halves; if I'm saying I'm doing this, then I must do it properly. It's been a hard discussion but hopefully my priorities are right now. I just wish I didn't have to drain my husband's pocketbook with all the supplements. It will be better when I can go back to work and at least feel I can pay for it myself. He didn't know how much I was already spending before I mentioned the GOL to him. At least he's supportive. He must really love me, he wants very much for me to be better. I feel awful inside but hopefully I'm on the right track now. .
Guest guest
Perhaps this will help put it in perspective: If you needed a liver transplant, you'd find a way to pay for it. GOL vitamins considerably cheaper. Here's another angle: Doesn't your daughter deserve a healthy mother who is able to cope with life and can teach her to do the same? I'm glad you're considering various ways of adjusting your budget. Without health, you really don't have much at all. You will be glad you did this. BTW, does your husband have a plan for quitting smoking, or does he just go cold turkey? He can maximize his chances of success by making a workable plan rather than just diving in. I quit over a year ago (after many poorly planned failed attempts), and I am SO glad I did!
