In most cases, I don't recommend beginning the drug again once 6 weeks have passed. Since we're talking about Zyprexa here, this window of opportunity may be larger. Your best bet right now is to go back on at the dose of 2.5 mg. It may take a few days to become stable. At that point, we can talk about small decreases so you can get off this without doing more damage to yourself. What I can tell you is that nothing will change for quite awhile if you choose not to go back on the drug. There is very little we can do to help with a cold turkey withdrawal. This is your brain and body telling you it can't handle this kind of shock. Please pay attention to it. BTW, good news! The " bipolar " to which you refer can be healed where you won't have to take drugs anymore. The borderline personality can also be healed -- if you are committed to the process. Guest guest
, Thanks for the info. It's good to know I probably won't have any withdrawl and I'll be OK till Mon. I didn't know I could be off medication for BiPolar, that's good to know too. And , thanks for the encouraging words. Guest guest
Thanks, . So, could a constant headache also be caused by the cold turkey w/d? I can't believe I have been this long with barely any sleep. I feel like I will collapse. So you're saying I should go back on 2.5mg even though it's been several months now? Thanks. --- C Creel wrote: > Dear Lily, > > ** There's nothing strange about what you're > experiencing. Everyone has this happen when they've abruptly discontinued a drug. > > I can't believe I have been this long with barely any > sleep. I feel like I will collapse.>> ** You have collapsed. This is what a collapse is. But the lack of sleep is not the cause -- the withdrawal is. > > So you're saying I should go back on 2.5mg even though > it's been several months now?>> You went off in Nov, right? I think it is well-worth a try. I think it may work seeing as how it's an anti-psychotic drug. Regards,

It's the worst thing you could do for yourself. To everyone reading this, Marilyn has explained to me that she abruptly discontinued 3 drugs. She will be posting more about this. Those of you who did this please speak up and help Marilyn not to make the same mistake. Thx. Regards,
Guest guest
I have been without sleep since I came out of the hospital right before Christmas. Prior to that, I went off Zyprexa c/t right before T-giving and had been without sleep all that time. I found out-they gave me Ativan and Valium in the hospital, so it is likely I am suffering from benzo withdrawal, too! --- Marilyn Baker wrote: > how long have u been without sleep? just curious . > im in the same situation now that i have chucked all > psychiatric drugs. i never had a problem with sleep > until they put me on their " therapeutic " drugs. i > expect that i could go without any sleep for several > weeks. > > --------------------------------- > Yahoo! Human beings die after approximately 264 hours with no sleep. That is 11 days. I've never, in over 20 years, seen a person in withdrawal die from lack of sleep or not sleep at all for 11+ days nor is there medical literature supporting that people in withdrawal have done this. The majority of people in withdrawal get small amounts of sleep and it is very difficult for them. It's very important for new people to be able to get facts here. Guest guest
I was in the hospital 12/14/05-12/22/05. I do get small amounts of sleep, like you said-2 or 3 hours at most. --- C Creel wrote: > Dear Lily, > ** While I appreciate how severe the insomnia > is, I have to ask that we > not let our emotional perceptions override intellect > and fact.
