I am spastic as crazy and I do not take anything--other than Copaxone for

the RR MS--and all the hundreds of meds I take for cystic fibrosis. No help,

I was on Avonex for a long time, but it was causing me to incurr too many

cystic fibrosis related infections; that is the ONLY reason I changed to Co

I take baclofen for the spasms. I've only been on it for a few weeks, and it does seem to help without too many side effects I can notice.

Beclofen and ativan at

times for spasticity is what is being used for me. Beclofen is now 10mg 4x per

day. Beclofen and ativan sometimes makes me too weak….have to work at the

timing.

: How much Ativan (lorazepam, right?) you take? I used to take clonazepam (Klonopin) and it helped my calf pain a lot. I'm taking 60 to 80 mg. of Baclofen a day right now. It's just not doing enough for me. Maybe I need to ask for clonazepam again or the Ativan. Do you have other people with Primary Progressive MS you can talk to or email with? It may help to be able to do that. I have a very good friend who have PPMS. julie levitt

I have resumed taking beclofen per the

prescription vs PRN for more consistesnt benefit.

I take 10mg 3 or 4 times per day but

often less with poor results. Need to be more consistent and on schedule. I

take .5mg ativan at times 1-3 sometimes not at all each day. 1mg at night if

worse spasticity and spasms.

I do not have other people with primary

progressive to talk to….

I take Valium when

needed. Usually I wait until I can’t stand it anymore. Then the valium is

fast acting, and takes the pain away. I should just take it on a regular basis,

but if I take muscle relaxants too long then it makes me weak. I tried baclofen

and it caused me to have “noodle” legs even at a low dose.

I also use ben gay, and

over pain relief rubs and it helps for a little while.

are doing okay! The list seems to be pretty quiet lately.
